A happy ending for this little corn snake, who we’ve now learned is named Pepper! 🐍

Last night we received a message from Pepper’s owners, who have been desperately searching for her for the past week. After confirming that the snake in our care was indeed their missing pet, they came in to collect her and bring her home.

We’re delighted to say that Pepper is now safe, well, and back where she belongs with her very relieved family.

Thank you to everyone who shared our original post and helped spread the word. Now that she’s safely home, here’s a photo of the beautiful Pepper for everyone to see! 💚

🐍 Found Corn Snake 🐍

A young Corn Snake has been found in the Bourton area (SP8 5PQ).

The snake appears to be in good condition, well cared for, and is likely a very missed pet. While it was found some distance from our shop, we were the closest place able to take it in and ensure it is safe and cared for.

If you believe this snake belongs to you, please contact us. Proof of ownership will be required before we can reunite any animal with its owner. Photographs of the snake in your care are preferred.

☀️🌡️ With temperatures rising across the UK, now is a good time to double-check your reptile setups.

While reptiles enjoy warmth, overheating can be just as dangerous as temperatures being too low. Make sure thermostats are functioning correctly, thermometers are reading accurately, and that your animals always have access to cooler areas within their enclosure. Keep an eye on room temperatures too during heatwaves, some enclosures can exceed safe temperatures even when heating equipment is switched off.

If you’re unsure whether your setup is coping with the warmer weather, feel free to pop in and ask us for advice. Stay safe and keep those reptiles cool! 🦎🐍

It’s always important to remember on days like today, a cooler reptile is safer than a hot one!

Our Pied Royal Python, Cleo, has laid a beautiful clutch of 5 eggs this week 🤍🐍

The eggs have now been safely transferred over to the incubator, where they’ll spend the next couple of months developing. Fingers crossed for a smooth incubation and some gorgeous little Pieds hatching later this year 🫶

Zodiac Loaches are one of those fish that always catch your eye once you spot them! Their maze-like patterning and active personality make them a fantastic addition to a peaceful tropical setup, especially for aquarists looking for something a little different 🐟

These quirky bottom dwellers love exploring around rocks, wood, and hiding spots, and do best in well-oxygenated aquariums with plenty of cover. They’re also well known for helping control pest snail populations, making them both entertaining and useful additions to the aquarium 👀🐌

Bea has done it again… and while she didn’t quite beat her own record this time, it’s still an absolutely incredible effort from her! 🤯🥚

Our lovely girl Beatrice, better known around the shop as Bea, has laid another absolutely HUGE clutch of eggs today, producing an incredible 40 eggs… or 42 if we’re counting the two little duds too! 😅

That’s just 32 days after her shop record-breaking clutch of 46 eggs back on April 18th! We genuinely don’t know where she keeps putting them all. Safe to say Bea is keeping us very busy this season! 🦎💛
