🟡 June is Microchip Awareness Month Yappers!
Microchipping your dog isn’t just a good idea – in the UK, it’s the law.
All puppies must be microchipped by the time they’re 8 weeks old and before they go to their new home. Most responsible breeders will get it done between 6 and 8 weeks.
🐾 If your pet ever gets lost, having an up-to-date microchip gives you the best chance of being reunited.
📍 Quick myth-buster:
Microchips don’t have GPS.
They’re tiny chips that hold a unique ID number, linking to your contact details on a secure database.
No tracking, no batteries – just safe and permanent ID.
📌 What about cats?
In Scotland, microchipping cats isn’t yet a legal requirement – but it’s expected to become law in future, so it’s still a great idea to get it done early.
🔍 Take a minute this June to check your pet’s chip details are correct – it could make all the difference if they ever wander off 🏡
