Meet beautiful 3 month old British short hair Aya who came to the practice for her 2nd kitten vaccination and for her 1st kitten clinic with RVN Sarah 😺😍

Our puppy and kitten programs are included on our silver & gold Healthcare plans and allow our nurses to support new owners by recommending aspects of puppy and kitten care as your pet grows up, including symptoms to look out for, how to create an environment the pet feel safe in, training and much more!

We look forward to seeing Aya as she grows up!

πŸŽ‰5 WEEKS FREE PET INSURANCE πŸŽ‰

We understand that pet insurance can be a minefield with so many different companies and policy types. Owners often feel overwhelmed and end up not getting cover at all, leaving a pet uninsured.

We highly recommend pet insurance as this removes the worry of making decisions based on finances when your pet is unwell or in need of any treatment.

While it’s often used for puppies and kittens, it’s also available for the majority of pets over 8 weeks old that have had a health check with one of our vets. This means that we can issue this 5 WEEKS FREE pet insurance to give you time to look into getting a full policy!! 🐈 🐩

Check out our adorable little puppy friends Blake & Honey πŸ₯°
These siblings have fairly different personalities with Blake being a bit more reserved & Honey being the more adventurous & cheeky of the two....as you can see from when she found the treat pot in the consultation room πŸ˜‚

***Pet cancer awareness month***

Pet cancer is a serious and often heartbreaking issue that affects dogs, cats, and other animals.

1. Prevalence:
Cancer is a common and serious disease in pets, particularly older ones. It affects animals of all breeds and sizes, taking forms such as skin cancer, lymphoma, and bone cancer.

2. Signs and Symptoms:
Early detection is key. Warning signs include lumps, weight loss, appetite changes, lameness, and odd odours. Any such changes should prompt a veterinary visit.

3. Diagnosis:
Diagnosis involves physical exams, blood tests, imaging (X-rays, ultrasounds), and biopsies. Vets may refer cases to a specialist oncologist.

4. Treatment Options:
Treatment depends on the cancer type and stage. Common options include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy. Decisions should be made with the vet’s guidance.

5. Quality of Life:
Owners must weigh treatment benefits against the effects on the pet’s comfort and well-being.

6. Prevention:
Not all cancers are preventable, but regular vet visits, a healthy lifestyle, and reducing exposure to toxins can lower risk.

7. Emotional Support:
Dealing with pet cancer is emotionally tough. Support groups and online communities can provide help and shared experiences.

Pictured is FOH team member Louise's beloved childhood cat who initially had to have her tail amputated due to a cancerous tumour & then sadly passed at the age of 17 from the disease after it spread πŸŒˆπŸ’”

Please feel free to share your stories/pictures of your beloved pets with us in the comments.
