So this week, we’ve been stepping into the world of virtual reality training.
We’ve been testing out a range of VR apps from 4HelpVR, covering everything from first aid and fire safety to workplace hazards.
There’s something slightly surreal about standing in a room, headset on, waving your arms around… while everyone else watches you attempt CPR on a virtual patient.
But jokes aside, it’s actually very clever. You’re not just watching a video, you’re doing the task. You’re making decisions, reacting to situations, and occasionally realising you probably wouldn’t survive five minutes in a real emergency.
Some of the scenarios get surprisingly intense, alarms going off, things going wrong, and you suddenly feel that pressure to act quickly.
It’s a bit like being dropped into a video game, except this one might actually teach you something useful.
And that’s really the point. It’s learning by doing, with a bit of fun, a bit of chaos, and hopefully without any real-world consequences.
If you would like further information about how you can bring this technology to your workforce, get in touch right away.
