As silly as this sounds, I just didn't think I'd be here. I didn't think I'd ever be doing this. We dream of our dogs living forever; we take them for granted and wake up to them being happy to see us every day, never expecting that one day they won't be happy anymore, and one day they won't be here at all.
I'm devastated.
Tomorrow, I will be saying goodbye to my beautiful girl, Alley.
At 19 years old, she has lived a long, loved, and wonderful life, but due to her declining health and quality of life, the heartbreaking decision has been made to let her go peacefully.
I have been lucky enough to have Alley by my side for the past 13 years. She was smart, beautiful, cheeky, and full of character. She was my first dog and taught me so much about what it means to be a dog mum. Together we shared countless adventures, memories, and moments that I will cherish forever.
Alley was there through the birth of my three beautiful children, and she stood beside me through some of the darkest times of my life. Her love, loyalty, and companionship have been a constant source of comfort, and I cannot imagine life without her.
This is not a decision I ever wanted to make, but I cannot bear to see her suffer. Loving her means giving her the peace and dignity she deserves.
My heart is broken, and I will miss her more than words can say. I will love her always and carry her memory with me forever.
To my friends, family, clients, and colleagues, I may be a little quiet over the next few days as I take time to grieve. I kindly ask that you respect my silence and understand if I am slower than usual to respond to messages.
Run free, my beautiful girl. Thank you for every pawprint you left on my heart.
❤️ Alley ❤️
