We are excited to announce our new company direction!
It’s been a wild journey this year: we’ve moved into and renovated our new home in Attercliffe, experimented with business models, undertook our first grant and sold fresh greens to the city. To pull this off we designed, built and operated our own proprietary vertical farm and anaerobic digester from scratch. We are extremely proud of the progress our team (David Dixon, Gabrielė Barteškaitė, Alastair Roper and Alexander la Fleur) has made in our first year of full-time work.
We couldn’t have done it without the support from our investors SFC Capital, Carbon13 and Ashley Tate.
Sheffield has been a brilliant place to start this journey we would like to say thank you to Tom Wolfenden and the team at Sheffield Technology Parks, Our Cow Molly and The Brewery of Saint Mars of the Desert, for all their help and collaboration this year.
Our Innovate UK grant with the The University of Sheffield has been a great experience and the researchers Davide Poggio, Jacob Nickles and Ian Lidbury have gone above and beyond in sharing their expertise and we look forwards to continuing this collaboration.
But now it's time to start a new chapter…
Vertical farming isn’t the only industry that battles with the energy volatility and stringent waste regulation. So we have expanded our horizons to provide a sustainable solution to all food and drink manufacturers.
Our focus is to cut operational costs by using biological processes to convert trade effluent and organic waste into energy. Combining our expertise in artificial intelligence, mechanical design and biological systems, we have developed a reactor which can optimize the microbiome, increasing the rate of gas production. This can improve the energy efficiency for large corporates, as well as open the doors of waste-to-energy to SMEs.
Going forward, we are planning to patent our reactor and deploy our first paid pilots in 2025, check out our new website for more information on our new direction:
