Some sad news to announce...
Bodhi has passed away this week.
He was 14 years old, and after a short illness, there was nothing that could be done for him.
Therefore, the incredibly difficult decision was made by his Mum Chloe, to put little Bodhi to sleep on Tuesday morning.
He truly was a beautiful, well natured and gentle dog.
It was an absolute honour to walk him over the years, and he will be missed greatly by me, and the other Collar Country Club dogs.
I was able to spend some quality time with him at his home, the day before he was put to sleep. I will be forever grateful for that time.
I kissed him goodbye and told him that Rosie would be up there, ready to welcome him with chicken slices, which were his favourite treat.
There's been plenty of tears from me this week, and has hit me hard. Saying goodbye to a dog is truly heartbreaking, whether that be your own or another who you love.
These dogs are treated as my own for a couple of hours a day.
Some dogs will never leave my side, some will come back when they're scared and some will just be living their best life with me, within view.
All that matters, is that for a time, I am privileged enough to have them in my own life.
Inevitably I get attached, but it is difficult not to over the years.
Life is short - even shorter for your dog.
So my job, is to help give them an incredible time out when you can't at that particular hour, on that particular day.
That is what being a good dog walker should all be about.
For Bodhi, it was a peaceful ending, done at his home on a sunny morning, where he was most comfortable with his Mum by his side.
Goodbye Bodhi. You were very special to me.
You will always be part of Collar Country Club.
Over the rainbow bridge you go, little one.
