🌡️🐾 HOT WEATHER DOG SAFETY NOTICE
With an upcoming heatwave forecast to hit parts of the UK, and temperatures continuing to rise in summer months, your dogs safety and wellbeing always comes first.
During hot weather, pavements can become dangerously hot and dogs can quickly overheat, leading to heat stress and heatstroke — a serious and potentially life - threatening condition. Certain breeds are especially vulnerable, including:
🐶 Flat-faced(brachycephalic) breeds such as Bulldogs, Pugs, French Bulldogs & Boxers.
🐶Thick-coated breeds.
🐶Puppies and Senior dogs.
🐶Dogs with health conditions or overweight dogs.
Signs of heat stress can include:
⚠️Excessive panting
⚠️Drooling
⚠️Lethargy or Weakness
⚠️Vomiting
⚠️Collapse
To keep all dogs safe during periods of high temperatures, all walks will temporarily be shortened or changed to drop in visits instead.
These visits will include:
💧Fresh water top ups
🧊Cooling down and comfort checks
🐾Toilet breaks in the garden
🎾Indoor play, enrichment and fuss
❤️Welfare checks
This policy is in place during heatwaves and all summer months for the health and safety of your dogs, I appreciate your understanding and support during warmer weather. Keeping your pets safe will always be my top priority. 🥰 🐾 ❤️
