This is the tough part of the job.

I’m coming up to 10 years of the salon being open… honestly, where has that time gone? It feels like yesterday some of these dogs were tiny pups coming through the door for the first time. Now, just like us, they’re growing older.

The hardest part of 10 years of success is knowing it also brings more heartbreak. More grey faces, slower walks, and eventually having to say goodbye to dogs and owners I’ve loved for years.

Lately it’s made me very emotional. Over the years I’ve sadly lost some amazing clients, both beloved dogs and owners I’ve grown close to. And when you grieve, I grieve with you too. These dogs are never ‘just appointments’ to me.

As your pets get older, slower, more anxious, or a little confused with age, I want you to know I will always treat them with the same kindness and love I’d want for my own dogs. I’ll always work at their pace, do what suits them best, and make sure they feel safe and comforted.

I truly appreciate every single person who trusts me with their dogs. After nearly 10 years, that trust still means everything to me 🤍
