Crushed or grated nuts attract robins, dunnocks and even wrens. Nuthatches and coal t**s may hoard peanuts.

Warning: Don't use salted or dry roasted peanuts. Remember, peanuts can be high in a natural toxin, which can kill birds, so always buy from a reputable dealer, such as Chirpy, to guarantee freedom from aflatoxin.

The Long-tailed tit is a small bird with pink, black and white plumage and a long black tail with white outer feathers.
They are a common bird throughout the UK, and can be found within hedgerows, deciduous woodland and gardens
They will enjoy bird food from our garden bird feeders, especially if they are filled with peanuts or peanut granules. (Chirpy offer a premium whole peanut and blanched peanut granules, ideal for your garden feeders!!)

House sparrows can be found from city centres to countryside, they like to feed and breed near to people.
Since the 1970's, numbers in rural England have nearly halved while numbers in towns and cities have declined by 60 per cent. Because of these large population declines, the house sparrow is now red-listed as a species of high conservation concern. ☹️

Most garden birds, even the seed-eating finches, tend to feed their young on insects at this time of year. You may notice birds taking caterpillars or insect larvae off to the nest, before returning to boost their own energy levels from the bird table or feeder.
Parenthood is tiring work, make sure you help them along with Chirpy premium birdfeed😁
