đŸŸ One of the biggest things we struggle with?

Foster homes.

Without fosters, we can’t say yes to dogs who need us.

If you’ve ever considered fostering—even just short term—we’d love to hear from you.

You provide the home, we provide the support.

Behind the Scenes

What people see:
đŸ”čhappy dogs in new homes.

What they don’t see:
đŸ”čthe late nights,
đŸ”čthe difficult conversations,
đŸ”čthe constant search for foster homes.

Running a rescue isn’t easy—but it’s worth it for every dog that gets their second chance.

Thank you for sticking with us and supporting what we do. 💙

💛 STILL WAITING
 💛

Beautiful Daphne is still searching for her forever home through Dogs Trust Edinburgh.

This gorgeous 2-year-old Dobermann has so much love, intelligence and personality to give — she just needs the right people willing to give her the time, guidance and understanding she deserves.

Daphne is a bright, active girl who loves exploring, learning new things and being out on adventures. She’s looking for an experienced, adult-only home where she can continue her training and thrive as the only pet in the home.

We know our followers have a huge soft spot for Dobies, so we’re sharing her again in the hope that the right person sees her. 💙

Please share to help Daphne find her forever family đŸŸ

💙 UPDATE ON ZEUS 💙

We are absolutely delighted to share that Zeus’s insurance company has confirmed they will now be covering the costs of his emergency treatment — which is truly fantastic news for both Zeus and his owner.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we raised an amazing £1,079.00+ through our JustGiving appeal to help towards Zeus’s veterinary costs. We cannot thank you all enough for the kindness, compassion, and support shown during what was an incredibly stressful time.

As Zeus’s treatment costs are now being covered by insurance, anybody who donated to the fundraiser is very welcome to contact us directly via Messenger or email should they wish to request a refund. This is completely understandable given the change in circumstances, and refunds will be provided with absolutely no questions asked.

For those who do not wish to request a refund, please know that any remaining funds will go directly towards helping future Dobermanns in need through Scottish Dobermann Rescue. Your support will continue to make a real difference to dogs requiring veterinary care, rescue support, and safe foster placements.

Most importantly of all, Zeus is recovering well and has now been signed off by the vets, with only a short period of rest and recovery still ahead of him — which is the best update we could have hoped for. đŸŸ

Thank you all again for your continued support of both Zeus and Scottish Dobermann Rescue. It truly means the world to us. 💙

Imagine waiting
 and waiting
and no one comes back for you.

For too many dogs, that’s their reality.

Now imagine the moment everything changes—the first walk, the first warm bed, the first time they realise they’re safe.

That’s the difference rescue makes.

Follow us to see these moments happen

UPDATE: The post has been restored, our appeal worked. Shocking that we should have to appeal it in the first place but thankfully we no longer have any restrictions issued to our page.

We are extremely disappointed to share that Facebook has removed one of our recent posts and issued a restriction against our page for allegedly breaching their “Animals and animal parts” policy.

The post in question was simply us trying to help a Dobermann find a safe, suitable forever home — something that is at the very heart of what we do as a registered Scottish charity.

No rules were intentionally broken. The post was a genuine welfare-based rescue appeal shared in good faith to help a dog in need.

Unfortunately, this appears to be another example of automated moderation systems incorrectly flagging legitimate rescue work. While we understand the importance of policies designed to tackle unethical animal sales, it is deeply frustrating that registered rescue organisations trying to protect and responsibly rehome dogs are being caught in the crossfire.

For small rescues like ours, social media is one of the only tools we have to reach potential foster and adoptive homes. Removing these posts actively hinders our ability to help vulnerable dogs across Scotland.

We have submitted an appeal and hope Facebook reviews this decision properly, though experience tells us that these automated decisions are rarely handled with the level of common sense they deserve.

We will continue doing everything we can for the dogs who need us — regardless of the obstacles placed in our way.

Thank you, as always, to everyone who continues to support Scottish Dobermann Rescue. 💙
