Ringo has been coming to us since he was rehomed by his new owners and he has always been a good boy !

It’s hard to believe that before he landed on his paws with his new owners he was in the re homing centre for 1yr!

Who could resist his gorgeous face ☺️

UPDATE Dog is now with Woodhaven

We have had a lost dog brought in to us, it’s a French bulldog / possibly French bull dog cross as it’s long haired, it’s grey and tan coloured.
Found back roads near to Selby/ possibly Brayton/Barlow/Cambelsforth area as the finder was out of area and unsure where they collected the dog from.

We don’t have favourites but…… Benny is just the coolest cat in Selby🐈🐈‍⬛🐈

We normally go to see Benny in his home environment due to his owner’s mobility, but today we collected Benny and brought him to the practice as he had to have a small procedure!
Benny was so chilled and he enjoyed his little trip out , he spent most of purring and laying on the table wanting his tummy tickled! ☺️

He also loves his photo being taken … what a poser he is 🤩

Mauro, our vet, has wrapped up his time at the university, where he had the privilege of teaching and mentoring the next generation of veterinarians. Sharing his experience and knowledge with passionate students was a rewarding challenge, and he hopes they left his lectures as inspired as he did.

Now, it’s time to return to England and get back to what he loves most—caring for his furry patients. Consults resume Tuesday, and he’s looking forward to seeing all his four-legged friends (and their humans) again soon!

Patch has recently been rehomed and his new owners brought Patch in for a health check and to start a vaccination course.

Don’t forget if you are booking a holiday or you are wanting to book your dog into kennels you will need to make sure your dog is up to date with his /her vaccines .

What an amazing evening filled with the spirit of community and gratitude! As an independent practice that feels more like a family, we’re incredibly thankful for the over 40 Christmas cards (too many to put out) and the generous amount of chocolates, wine, and other treats our wonderful clients have shared with us this festive season. (New Year’s resolutions are already looking shaky!)

During our dinner party, one of our amazing clients walked in and, without saying a word, left a round of drinks paid for us all—a truly touching moment that reminded us just how special our connections are. Later in the evening, we bumped into more clients celebrating nearby, and it felt like being surrounded by old friends.

To all of you who make what we do so rewarding, thank you for your trust, kindness, and friendship. You’re more than clients—you’re family. Here’s to a merry Christmas and a new year filled with joy and connection! 🎄✨

Gentle Reminder: Christmas Break Schedule

This week marks the final week before our Christmas break.

We will still be conducting consultations on 17th, 18th, and 19th December and will be exceptionally open on Friday until 1 PM for flea/wormer or medication collections only.

If your pet is on regular medication, please ensure you have enough to last through the festive period. If you need additional supplies, please call us to arrange this. The last date to order medication will be Wednesday, 18th December.

During our closure, if you have any concerns about your pet, please contact the out-of-hours surgery. When calling, confirm that you are a client at Vetcare.

We are open as normal next week 17th/18th/19th for consultations, we are already getting booked up so if you do feel you need an appointment then we will do all our best to see your pet.

If your pet is on medication then please make sure you have enough to last you over the festive period. If not then please give us a call and we can organise the medication for you, the last order date to order the medication will be Wednesday 18th December .

We will be open on Friday the 20 th December if you need to collect Flea /wormer or medications only .

If you have any concerns about your pet then please use the out of hours surgery and confirm that you are a client at Vetcare .

One of our clients is missing an elderly black cat from the Maltings/Flaxley Road area from the afternoon of the 4th of Dec.
If anyone sees one please let us know so we can pass any sightings on.
She is microchipped but is registered to a London address.

Some pets really struggle with the fireworks, they can cause really bad anxiety and stress …

Last year a few of our clients used a product called Protexin SereniCare …we had some really good results … you can order this product from us , it’s very easy to use , you just add the sachets to the pets food .
