🧨🎆 Fireworks Incoming🎇🧨 Dogs Panicking😢 Humans Googling📲...
If your pup turns into a trembling heap every Bonfire Night, you’re not alone!
🙌🏻We’ve got you covered with calming treats, squeaky distractions, plug-ins, sprays, tablets & thunder wraps. Here are a few tips on keeping your furries fabulous during the "Big Bang" season👇🏻
🎆 Fireworks Survival Guide for Dog Owners
🐾 Create a safe haven: Set up a cozy, covered, quiet space away from windows with familiar blankets, toys, and maybe a piece of your clothing for comfort
🐾 Use calming sounds - Play gentle music or white noise to help mask the bangs. Search “Soft Sounds playlists for Dogs” in Amazon Alexa, Spotify, You Tube etc
🐾 Close curtains and windows: This helps reduce the noise and flashing lights that can trigger & startle your dog
🐾 Stick to routine: Keep feeding and walk times consistent to provide a sense of normalcy - (although avoid walking during the dark)
🐾 Try anxiety wraps or calming products: Thunder Shirts, pheromone diffusers, or calming treats & tablets can help ease stress
🐾 Avoid punishment or fussing - Stay calm and act normal, over-comforting or scolding can increase anxiety
🐾 Give distractions: Puzzle toys, long-lasting chews, or treat-dispensing games can redirect focus away from the noise
🐾 Microchip and ID check: Make sure your dog’s microchip and collar info are up to date, just in case they do bolt/escape and become lost
🐾 Walk early: Get outdoor activities & walks in before dusk to avoid fireworks going off mid-walk
🐾 Talk to your vet: If your dog has severe reactions/anxiety, ask about professional behavioural support or medication options in advance as sometimes they need a while to take full effect
🐇If you keep any pets outside, please consider bringing them inside throughout the winter - particularly firework season
