Such a wonderful privilege to get to know the lovely Bella through my drawing these last few difficult weeks.
Every mark I put on the paper is considered carefully and the layers are built up gradually.
There is a wonderful peaceful rhythm when I’m drawing which brings me great joy.
Like many artists, I worry that this human connection to art may soon be lost to the realms of AI.
What are your thoughts on this?

Hi There!

I know it’s been a while!
After a long break to focus on family and work commitments, I’m super excited to be drawing again.
This is the gorgeous Aero drawn with charcoal and pastel on a fawn coloured Pastelmat paper to help make both the blacks and whites pop!

After a tricky start, I really enjoyed drawing these two beautiful dogs, Barney and Rika, both sadly no longer with us.
It’s always difficult when I’m asked to draw beloved pets who have passed, especially when there’s only limited photos to work from.
It’s so important to me I create a close likeness and to reflect each animals character, and occasionally I have to make the difficult decision not to go ahead.
In this instance, I am so pleased I was brave enough to commit and bring these two back to life.
