Saw Silver again today for another session. As she is a very sensitive mare who can struggle with trust and confidence, I decided to focus on groundwork and take her for a calm bonding walk around the yard. This allowed me to better understand her triggers, build her confidence, and continue developing a positive relationship with her.

She was very tense at the beginning of the session, but by the end she had completely relaxed and was happily walking alongside me like a big dog. Horses that have had a difficult start in life, especially sensitive ones, often need extra patience, consistency, and understanding to learn to trust again.

I’m so pleased with the progress Silver is already beginning to make, and I truly believe that with time and steady sessions she will continue to grow in confidence. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s desensitising session 🤍 ps don’t think she was happy with me waking her up after she just laid down for a nap 😂🙈

Had the pleasure of riding little Jasper again today for some hacking, and he was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. He took everything in his stride, stayed calm and willing throughout, and proved once again what a genuine little pony he is. Nothing seemed to faze him, and he tackled every part of the ride with confidence and a lovely attitude.

It’s been so rewarding watching his progress and seeing his confidence continue to grow with every outing. He’s such a kind, honest pony with a brilliant temperament, and I genuinely couldn’t be prouder of him today. A very exciting pony for the future i am 5’2 for reference 🤍

Hi, I’m Emily, I’m 19 years old, and this is Duke — my 11-year-old ex-racehorse who I’ve owned for nearly 6 years.
Our journey together hasn’t always been easy. Duke was unfortunately missold to us, and we knew very little about his history when he first arrived. Building the horse he is today has taken years of patience, trust, hard work, and dedication — with plenty of blood, sweat, and tears along the way.
The reason behind my business is simple: I understand what it feels like to struggle.
Two years ago, I suffered a serious accident while backing my youngster and broke my back. At that point, I truly felt like all hope was gone. I know what it feels like to lose confidence, to feel overwhelmed, to need support, and even to want to give up altogether.
That’s why my goal is to help and support other riders through those difficult moments. Whether it’s confidence issues, behavioural struggles, setbacks, or simply needing someone who understands — I’ve been there too.
Duke has helped me massively throughout my journey and has inspired me to help both current and future clients when they’re struggling. I never judge anyone for where they are in their journey; my aim is simply to help, support, and work through challenges together, no matter the cause.
If you feel like you need support, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I offer online mentoring and support, as well as in-person visits where I can come out and work with both horse and rider.
No matter the challenge, my aim is to provide a supportive, understanding, and judgement-free environment to help you move forward with confidence.

A new face today — well, not for me, but for my followers!
Meet Silver, who I’ll be working with over the coming weeks. Silver is a very sensitive mare and can find new people and situations quite overwhelming, so my focus will be on taking things slowly and building her trust both on the ground and under saddle. The aim is to help her understand that there is nothing to be afraid of and to create a calm, positive experience for her.
Today we started with some long-lining work. She began the session quite tense and unsure, often trying to rush away from the pressure, but with a calm and patient approach she started to relax, listen to the aids, and even produced a lovely controlled and steady trot by the end.
I’m looking forward to helping both Silver and her owner throughout her riding journey and seeing her confidence continue to grow 🤍

Someone once asked me what I believe is both the bravest and most important thing a person can do within the equestrian community, especially when things go wrong or support is needed.

My answer was simple: asking for help.

Asking for help is not giving up, it’s refusing to give up. It takes real strength to reach out when challenges arise, whether that’s with riding, confidence, horses, or life behind the scenes.

One of the things I value most about the equestrian community is supporting one another through the highs and lows. I’ll always be here to offer support, encouragement, or simply a listening ear, because I understand firsthand what it feels like to need help too. 🤍

Little Jasper’s progress the other day was incredible to see 🤍🐴

At the start, he was very tense, unsure, and wouldn’t go anywhere near the mounting block, constantly looking back towards his owner, which is completely understandable as an ex lead rein pony.

With patience, reassurance, and taking everything at his pace, we worked on building his confidence around mounting and handling from the ground. By the end of the session, I was able to get on and off him calmly without any tension or uncertainty from Jasper, and he was walking absolutely amazing.

Although the saddle wasn’t fitting correctly, that doesn’t mean we can’t continue introducing him to the process and helping him become comfortable and confident with everything step by step.

He even offered a cheeky little trot once he started feeling comfortable and confident, which was lovely to see 🤍

I’m incredibly pleased with Jasper’s progress and so excited to continue building his confidence 🐴🤍

New face today — meet little Jasper 🐴

Jasper is an 11.2hh, 6-year-old pony who is such a quiet and sweet boy. He has previously been used as a lead rein pony but hasn’t done a great deal, so we are taking things slowly and focusing on rebuilding his confidence off the lead rein and back into ridden work.

Within just 10 minutes, this pony made a huge change and really started to relax and understand what was being asked of him. He’s proving to be a super quiet pony and such a handsome little guy too!

I’m really looking forward to following his riding journey and seeing how far he progresses ps rode him bare back due to girth not fitting and he is just a super pony 🤍🐴
