❤️Happy 10 years of Sully Swanzdale❤️

He arrived to us on 19th May 2016 as a stray with an abscess on the side of his face, the lovely gentleman that brought him told us Sully had just appeared at his house, and as much as he liked him, he was unable to look after him and wanted to help.

🐾We weren’t able to trace his owners but he won us over with his loveable personality, so we gave him a home for life!🐾

Sully is a fully fledged member of staff (emotional support practice cat). He gives the best cuddles and entertains us everyday, he even sits on command!!!

He was named Sully by Jenny who was one of our nurses, Matthew wanted to call him Maurice but we voted for Sully Swanzdale (we think that suits him best).

☀️His favourite things are sunshine and food....he is very greedy, and will steal your dinner if you are not careful🍽️

We couldn't imagine life here without our best friend,

Happy 10 years to you Sully 🥰

🐹 Buddy the Guinea pig 🐹

This week we had little Buddy join us for the day for his castration procedure 🗓️

Castration requires surgery under general anaesthetic, followed by a closely monitored recovery with our inpatient nursing team 🩺

We typically assist with the feeding of our exotic species due to their complex dietary needs- Buddy here was very fond of our syringe feed! 🍽️

✨️✨️ The power of microchips ✨️✨️

We have a lovely story to share with you all today.....we had a stray cat brought to us to check for a microchip, this cat had been hanging around a clients home on and off for about a year .

Luckily the owners number was up to date on the microchip system so we were able to contact them to reunite them with their long lost cat that had been missing for 3 years!!
This cat had also travelled quite a distance as the owners lived out of the area, she possibly jumped into a vehicle and hitched a ride.

This demonstrates the power of a microchip.

Please make sure if you change your mobile or home number, your address or you email address to contact the microchip company that your animals details are held with and update them.

In all the excitement I forgot to ask permission to take a photo of the lovely cat so please enjoy a picture of Sully Swanzdale soaking up the sun.😍

Important Pet Travel Update

Please be aware that the rules covering travelling with pets (dogs, cats and ferrets) to the EU have just changed. From today (22nd April) EU Pet Passports held by GB residents will no longer be valid for travel from Great Britain to the EU.

You will instead need to have an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) for each trip. EU passports are still valid to get back into the UK, to cover anyone who might be on holiday now.

This has been brought in at very short notice. If you have a trip to Europe with your pets planned and were intending to take them on an EU passport, please get in touch with us at the practice and we can help you get everything sorted.

Thank you
