How many times do we hear people say that their dogs are naughty because they are destroying the house,dangerous because they snap at a human or downright disobedient when they are off lead and won't come back?
There is always a root cause to these behaviours and sadly it usually lies firmly at the human owner's feet.

Your cute little pup quickly grows into a larger adult dog.
It is our responsibility as dog owners to provide early guidance because if we fail to deliver correct training initially,our dogs will remind us of our failings by displaying the above unwanted behaviours.
Let's start by understanding our dog's basic training needs.
This way we can start to work out why they behave the way they do and help them to de-stress and enjoy life ❤

My name is Claire Valentine.
I started my business Rover And Out in 2020 for people who lead busy lives and need help exercising their dogs or who are struggling with training/behaviour.I have recently had to take a year out due to breaking my leg but am now happily back in action.
I work at a veterinary practice and have a wealth of experience in the care of both dogs and horses.
My life was geared towards the training of young horses for many years but I have always had dogs as my constant companions.Some joined me as young puppies but I have taken in rescues too.
If you would like your dog to be a happy,relaxed companion in the home,he needs plenty of positive stimulation and exercise in the North Sea air!
I can offer help and assistance with training at home or combining this in walks if necessary.

I feel my qualities are:

• Honesty - If you pay for an hour’s exercise,that is what your dog will get.
• Reliability - I hate being late for anything!
• Experience - I have housetrained more puppies than I care to remember and have gone on to socialise/train each one .
• Passion - Animals are my world.I think I understand dogs far better than I understand most people!

Pictured below are my 2 beloved dogs.
Mouse is a small Springer spaniel,a quiet gentle soul who loves to travel with me wherever I go.
Hattie the Dalmatian loved nothing more than to come out with me exercising horses.Nowadays,she is more content at home by an open fire.

Here is Phoenix,an Akita X who can be quite vocal and over exuberant with people he meets on lead walks.
We have been working on his owner maintaining Phoenix's attention to her and staying calm and relaxed when she sees a situation arising.Tension through the lead will always send a dog the wrong message.

Here is the lovely Finn,a Dalmatian x Border collie out on a training walk.

Teaching a puppy/young dog recall is a vital part of early training.
