A little greenhouse update for everyone who has ordered or enquired about plants 🌱 🌱

the cold weather has held everything back a bit but overnight temperatures are looking warmer from tonight so the plants should push on now. Pre-ordered cucumbers will be ready to collect this week but we're now looking at the weekend of 30th/31st May for moving the rest out onto the stall, just right for planting out at the start of June.

On the way we've got more tomatoes, cucumbers, courgettes, squash, pumpkins and flowers like cosmos, marigolds and zinnia that will flower right through the summer and into the autumn.

If you'd like to pre-order any just send us a message, we'll post a full list of varieties soon.

In the meantime, there are still carnations, sweet Williams and rudbekia ready for planting, along with cut flower flower jars and our jams and chutneys

Thanks to everyone who came and bought tomato plants this weekend 🍅

The shelves are a lot emptier than they started but we've still got plenty of plants available. A few varieties were particularly popular but there's a second batch coming along nicely in the greenhouse 🌱 so if you're looking for Outdoor Girl, Golden Sunrise, Black Opal or Artisan Golden Bumblebee they should be back on the stall in the next week or so, or send us a message to reserve

The first batch of tomato plants are ready and are for sale on the stall from today 🍅

We're excited about our mix of varieties this year (see the last pic for the list), some of our old favourites and some new ones that we're looking forward to trying out too. Cherry, salad and plum types in a range of colours and options for growing under cover and outside.

All tomato plants are in 9cm pots and just £2 each, send us a message to reserve particular varieties or just come by the stall (Babraham Road, Sawston, next to the zebra crossing) where they'll be out from this weekend 🍅

The first batch of tomato plants is nearly ready for the stall now 🍅

We've moved them out of the heated greenhouse and are getting them used to the cooler nights in the polytunnel, so you know they'll be in great condition once they make their way to the stall this weekend.

Found a bit of time today to practice the recipes for our upcoming jam making and preserving workshop, where we'll be learning different preserving techniques by making a classic fruit jam and a pickle.

Today I went for raspberry jam and red onion relish but we will adapt the recipes to suit your own favourite ingredients if you are able to join us on Saturday 13th June at Sawston Village College.

We've been restocking the stall over the weekend since getting back from our Easter holidays.

Thank you to everyone who picked up the last of the sweet peas while we were away! These have now been joined by the first calendulas, carnations and sweet Williams. All have been hardening off well while we've been away and are ready for planting out now.

Spring has arrived on the stall this week with the first jam jar flower posies of the season 🌷

There should be more appearing sporadically over the next few weekends while the cutting garden gets going, with the ranunculus not far off flowering now. Keep an eye on the stall or send us a message if you'd like to pre-order.

The stall is looking a bit emptier this week now that the first batch of sweet peas and hardy annuals have all sold out (thank you!)

Plenty of broad beans available though, well-grown and ready to plant out now 🌱🌱

Tays of 6 plants just £3 each, ready to collect from our stall on Babraham Road, Sawston. Just drop by or send us a message to reserve. Varieties available:

Sutton Dwarf, a reliable cropper, short height so suitable for exposed sites, smaller plots or raised beds

Crimson Flowered, attractive red flowers and tasty beans. Looks just as good in the border as it does on the plot!
