Yesterday was the end of an era. CC, aka Granny or now pirate Granny, flew to Dubai. Not just any old flight, one reserved for the most special of hounds, her very own flight on a private jet!

We are pleased to say she has arrived in style and safely. CC is now carrying on her paddling pool dips in warmer climates.

You may remember we have also walked her lovely owners previous two dogs, Douglas and Darcey who sadly went to the rainbow bridge a few years ago. Having said they were never getting another beagle, CC arrived home. She is an older beagle and God only knows what she went through before she landed on all four paws.

She recently had to have an eye removed and she has taken it all in her stride, rocking the pirate dog look.

Our darling CC, we are truly going to miss you. You are a typical selective hearing beagle. You wouldn't exit your private pod in the van unless there was a high enough standard of bribery so an extra packet of ham was added to our weekly shop to get you to move. You have had us trained exceptionally well!

Not wanting to embarrass you but you are no lady in the van. Your wind has honestly made me think my eyeballs were going to melt and that one of you had pooped in the back. But nope, it was just you 😆.

You have tried eating every digusting thing going and we have had to keep a watch on your not quite so exquisite tastes at times.

You are loving, stubborn, funny and everything we love (well me mainly!) in a beagle.

I wish you all the luck and love in your new home you naughty old hound.

Thank you Neil and Sheridan for entrusting with your dogs for so many years. We can't thank you enough for all of the memories, laughs and tears we have had over the years. We will always talk about you both and your dogs, they have been a special part of our family growing up.

For our dearest Mimi...

We cannot believe you have taken your journey to the rainbow bridge so soon.
We found out at the end of March that you had a Hemangiosarcoma and were operated on for a huge internal bleed.

We knew from your wonderful owners that we had around four months left with you all. Never in a million years did I think that when we picked you up on Wednesday, with your daughter Mabel, that it would be the last time we would see you.

You sadly took your journey to the rainbow bridge on Sunday. I'm not ashamed to admit it has taken me this long to write this. The sheer amount of tears I have shed made it hard to find the words.

You have been so much fun over the last five years. Your enthusiasm for life was second to none. Your wagging tail and big cuddles when we picked you up were always welcome, along with whatever toy you chose to present us with. No matter the weather, you were ready for a walk. On the wettest and most miserable of days you still ran around like life was absolutely worth living, never letting anything faze you. Your running style was something to behold, both front legs going together at full pelt, almost prancing along.

No one else has ever had the loudest snort whilst hunting for treats. I'm amazed none ever got sucked up your nose! It was like having our very own little piglet playing find it. If anyone else does it now, we will always think of you.

Over the years you rolled in the most gloriously stinky of things, and that nose for fox poo was truly second to none. We even thought about creating our very own personalised Mimi shampoo bottle.

You had some time away from us as you recently became a mummy, and we now have the pleasure and privilege of looking after Mabel too. She is very much her mother's daughter. We promise we will look after her and love her every bit as much as you did.

Thank you, Jess and Jamie, for letting us take care of Mimi, and for continuing to trust us with Mabel. Our thoughts are with you as you navigate the loss of such a beautiful, one of a kind girl from your lives.

To our darling Mimi, we miss you so much on our walks, and we hope you have found the rest of our dog family who were also taken too soon. Go run in the grass, jump in the river, and find all the treats. Thank you for giving us Wednesday, so we could give you all the love we possibly could.

Happy gotcha day long hound!

1 year today you arrived home. You now have many name Winnie, aka Winniebago, Bago, Temu, TRex, tripwire.

You are loud, opinionated, stubborn, selectively deaf, greedy beyond words and have the most bendy neck of any dog I have met.

You have a soulmate in our youngest Jack and greet him every morning for a belly rub, weirdly named having your morning goozees. Don't ask, I can't explain it either!

You have brought out the young dog in Maverick and just annoy the hell out of chubby 😆. You are cuddly and you fit where you sit aa you torpedo onto the sofa.

So as you're completely mental, you fit in here just perfectly!

This has taken so long to write and edited far too many times from crying like a baby.

This week I had the honour of saying goodbye to Fred. Hands on heart this never gets easier. Fred was one of the first dogs I ever started walking over a decade ago. One of my originals. He came along with his big brother Boris.

Fred had the kindest and most gentle of souls with perfect amount of mischief at times. He loved his ball and we spent many a walk in the woods and at the beach playing.

He grew up walking alongside my own dog Maisy and then a year later Maverick. Maverick and Fred were like two peas in a pod.

As life has gone on he has spent a lot of time with my children and they have worshipped him.

I could go on and on about how much I loved him.

Thank you to Jenny and Mark for letting us walk and care for him all these years. I can't imagine how hard it was letting him go. Thank you for also letting me come and give him a final hug and kiss goodbye, it meant so much.

Good night gorgeous boy. I am sure you have found everyone over the bridge. Go play ball and eat sausages. Thank you for being one of a kind ###x
