Tri-Acre Kennels & Cattery

Tri-Acre Kennels & Cattery We are a highly experienced family owned Kennels & Cattery based in Landrake, Cornwall

We are a Cornwall Council 5* star rated friendly, dedicated, family run, secure CCTV monitored kennels and cattery situated in the lovely, peaceful Cornish countryside but only 7 mins from the Tamar Bridge! We have been in the same ownership since 1988 and have huge experience caring for all breeds and pride ourselves on providing our boarders with the same level of care that we would want our ow

n beloved pets to have. We welcome inspection and invite any prospective customers to visit us when we will be happy to explain our daily routine, show you the kennels / cattery and discuss any dietary/medical requirements your pet may have. All our boarders are covered by veterinary insurance during their stay (excluding pre-existing conditions)

We provide individual exercising for dogs and have access to grass paddocks at least 6 times daily but are happy to socialize younger guests with others of a similar age/size. We offer exceptional levels of hygiene and plenty of 'hands on' interaction with all guests daily. We do not advertise in any newspaper or magazine as the majority of our new customers comes from recommendations from other happy pet owners so come and see why 9 out of 10 pets prefer to spend their holidays at Tri-Acre!

Our lovely customers undoubtedly know this but it doesn't hurt to repeat it to everyone does it! 😊🐢🐾

Hi everyone, hope you're enjoying this glorious weather 😎

Just letting you know that we've been experiencing a technical glitch with our email auto-response recently and it's now been fixed but unfortunately, if you didn't receive this at the time you sent your email, you may get it now irrespective of whether you've spoken to us or not 🫣!

Apologies for any confusion 🐾

I’ve seen a few posts recently re adder bites and as we live and walk our dogs in such areas here is a timely reminder of what to do if you think your dog has been bitten by an adder.

🐍 Adders 🐍

With the glorious weather recently, we have seen an expected increase in calls regarding adder bites.

The adder (Vipera berus berus) is the only venomous snake native to the UK, and is also found across northern Europe. It is a protected species in the UK. Adders are most commonly, but not exclusively, found on dry, sandy heaths, sand dunes, rocky hillsides, moorlands and woodland edges. The clinical signs of an adder bite can include rapid and progressive swelling around the bite site, pain, lethargy, vomiting, bruising, bleeding and collapse.

What should you do if your pet has been bitten by an adder?
❌Do not panic.
❌Do not interfere with the bite.
❌Do not apply a tourniquet.
❌Do not attempt to touch or catch the snake.
❌Do not kill the snake – it is a protected species.
❌If practical, carry your dog to your car and go to your veterinary surgeon - do not delay seeking advice even if your pet is well as things can change quickly.

Adders are not aggressive and generally only bite when provoked. They hibernate in the winter and as a result most bites occur in the summer. Pets are frequently bitten on the leg, head or neck. If your pet has been bitten by an adder (even if you did not see the snake or are not sure what happened) – contact your vet/local vet immediately. The vet will examine your pet to determine the location of the bite and extent of the injury.

Stay safe this summer!🐍

Dog Yoga Training starting today!

We are now going to be able to teach your dog to take long deep breaths, learn to meditate and of course learn the pose pictured (downward dog)

We are setting our standard dog training methods to one side and hoping this new method of helping the dog to be more zen will stop any behaviour issues.

Namaste!

Hi everyone, hope you're enjoying the fabulous weather 🌞

Although the sun at the moment is amazing, you're probably thinking ahead to planning your summer holidays. We have been taking a record number of advance bookings this year and this has meant that we've had to come to the decision NOT to take on any NEW large dog (over Springer Spaniel size)customers for 2025 as we're already at capacity for a number of dates and don't want our loyal, existing customers to be disappointed.

We hope you understand that this decision has not been made lightly and that this applies to NEW CUSTOMERS ONLY, our existing clients are unaffected.

We look forward to seeing you all soon!🐾🐢

*******UPDATE 21/11******

The usual road off of the A38 is open now but when you come to the 'fork' in the road, the normal left hand route to us is closed so take the right hand fork and then the next right turn (beside a white cottage), and this will bring you to our entrance, in about 50 yds, on the right.
*****************************
If anyone is coming to drop off/collect their pets in the next couple of weeks, you will see that Pound Hill (the road to us from the A38) is closed.

If you are coming from the Saltash direction, you will need to take the turning immediately after the usual one (there is a diversion sign) which is West Lane and then take the next turn on the right and, at the top of that lane, right again. You will then find the turning to bring you up to our drive straight ahead in about half a mile.

If you are coming from the St Germans/Trerulefoot direction you can continue to Landrake and take the left turn immediately before the usual turning to us (just after the speed camera)

Hope this makes sense and apologies for the inconvenience, it really is beyond our control, but if you have any queries or problems please give us a ring on 01752 851471 and we'll do our best to help!
