We’ve all had a wonderful holiday in Angelsey. It reminded me how important having a great Recall is. Our dogs are always free to explore these beautiful places, because I know they will come back when I ask them to.

Pupdate! Daisy’s puppies are all settling in with their new families. Here’s some photos of them relaxing and playing at the vet practice where I work, a few days before they left. They had a lovely time there with their cousin, Charlie.

They have gone with a full puppy pack - food, toys, blankets with their litter’s scent on them, and an Adaptil plug in diffuser. All these things will help them to feel safe and secure as they explore their new homes.

It’s hard to let them go, but I know how much joy they will bring to their new families, and that makes me very happy.

Daisy is enjoying having me and the sofa to herself ❤️🐶❤️

Pupdate! Daisy’s puppies are 7 weeks old today. They have had their first vaccines and their microchips and were very brave.

I have started hand feeding them in preparation for training, and they are learning to take food gently and not nibble fingers too hard. Over the next week or so, they will learn recall and sit, and will continue with their very busy socialisation schedule.

(They will also have lots of cuddles ❤️❤️❤️)

Pupdate! Daisy’s pups are 5 weeks old!

From 4-5 weeks their puppy teeth will really come through. Mum’s teats can get very sore at this stage, so she will stop feeding them now.

By now, their sight and hearing are well developed, and they are starting to play with each other. They will graduate to a larger puppy pen, and start to spend time in the garden to play. They will use a litter tray for both wees and poos.

At 5-6 weeks, their little brains are developing fast. Every interaction is a learning opportunity. We want them to be calm, happy, playful puppies, so we encourage regular visits from their new families, and we start to take them outside in a carrier or sling.
