So much love for these two 🩵💚

Taking the honours in the British Show Pony Society Ridden Mountain and Moorland Championship sponsored by New Horizon Plastics were Katy Marriot-Payne and Salcombe Starehole Bay.

Show producer Katy is no stranger to success at London International Horse Show, having won this class three times before. Her winning partner this year was the 11-year-old Dartmoor stallion who is owned by Felicity Thompson.

“It's just one of the best feelings ever. He's such a special horse to all of us and he's usually the bridesmaid so to come to such a special show like London and finally do it with him, it's really special. It's lovely,” said Katy.

“Winning this never, ever gets boring. Once you've done it, it just sort of recognizes this hunger in you because there's no feeling like it.”

Reserve champions were Harriet Lawton and the New Forest pony Nutschullyng River Dance.

Salcombe Starehole Bay
Supreme Champion M&M Ridden LIHS 2025

Words can’t describe this feeling of winning such a prestigious final with a homebred pony. Truly an achievement of a lifetime for Mum and her small stud.

We are beyond grateful to the incredible Team KMP. All your ponies went beautifully and this was rewarded by winning three Best of Breeds. A huge achievement all round, well done everyone. Thank you so much Katy Marriott-Payne, for looking after the Thompson Family and for loving all the ponies at the Salcombe Stud, as if they were your own. 🩵💚🩵💚

Fred started this season running with mares in Salcombe before heading back to Team KMP late summer. Within a week he had qualified for HOYS being Champion at Stoneleigh with Katy.

His wonderful temperament shone through at the BSPS Heritage Champs where he was ridden to the Open championship and reserve supreme Dartmoor by 13 year old Maisie Kerry-Oates, and won the breed qualifier for London with Alice Tomlinson who rides him on the day.
The whole team adore him and it is always a fight to get to ride him as he is a long-term yard favourite

Suitable for both children and adults - a testament to the breed and his breeder Felicity Thompson who has both her home-bred stallions competing again this year.

Affectionately known as Special Cecil to his family and friends, he has certainly lived up to his name.
His long list of achievements include being Champion RIHS 2021, reserve champion RIHS 2022, HOYS winner 2023, reserve supreme London International Horse Show and best of breed winner there on two occasions.
He has had limited outings this season, but was Champion small breed at Royal Three Counties and the Royal Highland Show, Champion at Suffolk and is excited to return to London for the 4th time. His owner and breeder Felicity Thompson is proud to have both of her home-bred stallions compete together once again and will make the trip from Salcombe with her family to watch.

Salcombe Frowder Cove has been at home with us covering, since the end of January and back with Team KMP for a matter of weeks and he gets a HOYS ticket! We remember you doing exactly the same with this ponies sire in 2012, Katy Marriott-Payne and Team KMP…. Still as consistent as ever (even 13 years on). Don’t ever change, you are all amazing. Thank you as always for looking after our ponies as if they were your own. Xx

📣 M&M Ridden Small Breed Champions Closing Arena 4 📣

Our final championship in Arena 4 saw Katy Marriott-Payne and Salcombe Frowder Cove take the Champion spot following their win in the National Pony Society/Supreme Products M&M Ridden Dartmoor, congratulations to all connections!
