We've had a cat brought into our St Merryn branch, unfortunately we suspect he has been hit by a car. He's an un-neutered male, black fur and wearing a blue flea collar. If you know who he may belong to please call our main hospital on 01637 880307.

🐰 Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease is a widespread, life-threatening virus ⚠️

Often called viral haemorrhagic disease, it is seen frequently in unvaccinated rabbits because it spreads quickly through direct and indirect contact with infected rabbits.

The best way to protect your pet is with regular vaccinations throughout their life. This not only protects them but also decreases the spread of disease.

If you have a pet rabbit and need to check if their vaccinations are up to date, or need to get them booked in, call the clinic and speak to a member of the team.

It's Rabbit Awareness Week 2025

Did you know?

Rabbits Eat Their Droppings

Yes, it's true... rabbits eat their own droppings! Which, we know, might sound strange.

Known as coprophagy, this practice is essential for their health. Rabbits produce two types of droppings: hard faecal pellets and softer, nutrient-rich cecotropes.
They have a slow digestive system and tough forage needs to be digested twice!

If your rabbit is leaving these softer cecotropes it could be a sign they are feasting on too many pellets or might not be feeling well.
