I am delighted to let you know I am now open to groom your dogs again. I am complying with the Government and Pet Industry Federation guidelines. I will let you know the procedure for dropping off and collecting when I make your appointment. I look forward to seeing you all soon.

WHAT IS LURKING BENEATH your dog's long winter coat! This is the time of year when groomers are inundated with lots of soggy matted coats to clip off. The hair is actually damp underneath and the air can not get to the skin. If you enlarge the pictures, you will see the cheesy consistency of a skin infection with some black flea dirt mixed in. After the dog has been clipped and washed, the skin appears red raw and scabs may form. So if you hear anyone say a groomer clipped the dog too short AND caused a highly contagious skin infection you will know the problem had been lurking there for weeks but was not visible 😵. Even tiny tangles can make the skin very sore. In order to maintain a long coat, you need to have the time and inclination to brush and comb the hair right down to the roots. I am fortunate to have so many regular clients who manage to do this.

Freddie has been in again today, he has been well groomed by his Mum so he has been able to keep his coat quite long for the cold weather.
