During my study and practices in canine training and behavior I ensure that the methods I use are ethical, force free, modern and positive; rather than outdated and aversive. Therefore, I am a student member of the National Institute of Canine Ethics. I adhere to their code of ethics, industry standards. To me, the use of positive reinforcement is the most beneficial, ethical and successful way fo

r canines learn, build confidence and not only support their physical health but also considers their psychological health. By making training fun and positive, we can increase the behaviors we do want from our canines, as well as reduce the unwanted behaviors.

* DTC - Certified Dog Trainer

* Enrolled with the British College of Canine Studies.
* 4 years experience working with canines.

A nice surprise landed in my inbox today! 🎉🐾

I'm pleased to share that I am now a Certified Trick Dog Instructor.

When I first started working towards Trick Dog titles with Cola, I wasn't particularly interested in trick training, it was initially just something different do to work his little brain.

However, as we progressed through the titles, I found myself really enjoying the process. It challenged both of us, strengthened our communication, and reminded me just how much learning can happen when training is fun.

That experience inspired me to complete the instructor course, and I'm delighted to have achieved the certification.

While I don't currently plan to run dedicated trick training classes, trick training is a fantastic way to build engagement, confidence, body awareness, and problem-solving skills. It also helps trainers/handlers improve their timing, mechanics, and training skills. Because of that, I'll be incorporating more trick training and enrichment exercises into my existing classes where appropriate. If any one is keen to earn their own trick training titles with their own dogs, do let me know and I'll be more than happy to help you out.

A huge thank you to Cola for being my willing training partner and helping me discover a side of dog training I hadn't expected to enjoy so much. ❤️🐶

Super proud of Hilda and her owner 💟 Hilda struggles with frustration based reactivity. Her owner won't mind me saying that the biggest challenge has been her own consistency with cues, timing and handling. But she has been fully committed to helping Hilda, even when things were not going well.
We have made alot if changes to Hilda's lifestyle, built her toy drive, worked on impulse control, and looked at ways to reduce stress and help Hilda make good choices.
Here she is doing some super recalls. Her owner did a great job saying calm, consistent and with praising Hilda, which she really loves 🐶
