Common Scents canine enrichment practice is managed by Lisa Edwards who has studied at Brinsbury College (Canine Care and Management) as well as completing various companion animal training programmes whilst working for the RSPCA. Lisa is also qualified in ‘Canine Communication’ and ‘Scentwork Enrichment’, and has completed a range of training programmes including ‘Enriched Environments for Professionals’.

Today I was honoured to welcome the most gorgeous 15 week old GSD to The Secret Dog Garden for a puppy visit, and I took the worst photos 🤦
Sorry Goose, my photographic skills (or lack of) did not do you justice, you really are an exceptionally handsome young chap, and so chilled out. It was my pleasure to meet you, thank you to mum for coming to visit again with your lovely new boy.

Another shout out for Findon Dog Field, my boys love this place. Spot the super sonic wild child Baldrick in the video, he may be part Chihuahua and Yorkshire Terrier, but his Whippet/Beddlington (or Whipplington as we like to call it) means he is not only fiesty, but fast. Not the easiest mix in the world to live with!!! 🤣

Meet Dave, the world's tallest Jackapoo! I got the set up a bit wrong as I was expecting him to be somewhat smaller. However, Dave wasn't bothered and explored every inch with great curiosity and confidence. What a super boy he is.

Brought a few goodies back with me from my trip to the Isle of Wight. Obviously it involved animals so I now have some extra sniffs to add to The Secret Dog Garden! A small bag of feral cat fur, and a huge bag of sheep fleece!!!

Mr Moussaka was interested and even tried a little taste test. Baldrick was a bit more wary, it does stink!

If anyone wants some fleece for scent work then let me know, there’s plenty to go around. 😊

A special return visit for Koby ❤

When his family asked their teenage daughter what she would like as a birthday treat she said a visit to The Secret Dog Garden with Koby! I felt very honoured and we all enjoyed watching Koby enjoy his exploration.

Photos in reverse order again as I love it when a dog says 'yep, I'm done so I'm having a snooze.'
Bruno, originally from Romania, was delightful, very confident to explore from the word go and reminded of my Mr O, a very calm and methodical searcher. He came to visit as a birthday treat, and he certainly enjoyed his visit.
Thank you to his lovely mum for bringing him.

1-2-1 home enrichment visits

Lisa brings an alternative approach to care for your pets whilst you are at work or busy elsewhere, offering home enrichment sessions on a 1-2-1 basis giving your dog an opportunity to spend quality time on their own terms.

30 minute visits

These visits include a short sniff walk around your local area allowing the dog time to stop, sniff and explore, because we walk the dog for their benefit after all. This is followed by varying enrichment activities once home such as scent trails, novel items to explore and puzzle games tailored for your dog.
