This is baby Cloud the teacup Pomeranian puppy who is a regular visitor and loves his bath and fluff ups here at vf 🤍 we deep clean and condition his blonde locks and brush and comb and brush and comb and comb and brush and… You get my groove.
His owner loves his full natural coat so the snow ball look is what we aim for, a little paw trim, nail clip, ear clean and sanitary tidy is what’s included in Clouds sessions ☁️

And with that, another year of Vanity Furr is complete 🥂 after working through an extremely busy month of pre-Christmas pampers we’ve now closed up for Christmas.
A humongous thank you to each and every person that has visited my salon this year, to all the ones who attended appointment after appointment on your regular schedules just to keep your dogs clean and looking their best. You make time and space in your busy lives to come to me to provide you with a service and my craft that I am so in love with more and more every day.
I will never be able to put into words how much this small business means to me and how amazed and proud I am of it and where we’ve got it to, but I’m only as good as the people I have around me and that includes all the incredible clients I have. I’m certain I have the best customers about, you all bring me so much happiness each day and treat me with such kindness it blows me away. Some of you have become some of my closest friends and I feel like we’re family. It’s amazing to be able to create such close bonds and we hang out and chat and do things outside of work it’s just so special. I know there’s some of you who have really been there for me this year, you’ve been really supportive and have given me some of the best advice and comfort myself and my family have needed.

I have clients that still come to see me even though their dogs have passed away years prior, they still visit me and they see me for a catch up and chats and we remain a constant in each others lives due to the bond and friendship we created.
Vanity Furr will be turning 13 years old next year, it’s hard to believe I was just 19 years of age when I started all this, you’ve seen me grow up and build this business up beyond my dreams.
Sadly being open this amount of time means we’ve sadly lost some beautiful dogs this year due to old age and it’s been heartbreaking. I’ll be thinking of you all whose little dogs won’t be with you this Christmas, my heart goes out to you all.

Christmas is a special time of year but I know it can be tough for many, but please don’t ever feel alone or struggle, I’m always here for anyone who needs me. 💫
I hope you all have a very lovely Christmas, and I hope 2026 brings you all lots of love, health and happiness. Stay safe everyone and give your dogs the biggest squish and kiss from me ❤️

Extra big thank you to Ellie, who without her the salon wouldn’t be the same. She does so well to keep up with me and the pace and standards that I set, she works so hard and does it without complaint (well, not many) 😉😄
And thank you to my mum (who you all treat with such kindness, take her out for coffees and lunches and pop in and sit and have cups of tea with her and our poodle Nina 😂)
My mum’s been looking after my dogs from 6am until 8pm, 7 days a week for the whole of December whilst I’ve been so busy in the salon. She’s the best mum in the world and my biggest fan ❤️

The salon is now closed until Tuesday 6th Jan, I can’t wait to see you all again soon for another fully booked year ahead!!! 🎉🥳 I will take the next couple of weeks to rest up and spend some quality time with my family and my amazing dogs. The dog in the picture is my special boy Rupert who will sit and wait for me to come through the front door, is there any better sight to come home to. Bless his heart ♥️
Lastly, thank you all for the generous gifts, cards and tips you’ve all given me this month I’ve been truly spoiled rotten you all go above and beyond for Ellie and I and we appreciate every single one of you more than you’ll ever know.

Love you all billions

Helloooo! So we’re just getting into the final working week of the year here at Vanity Furr and this is always the busiest time for us. So just a couple of little things I’d be really grateful if you could do just to keep everything running as smoothly as possible…

• Please PLEASE arrive to your appointment on time, this is so important. I’m trying to keep to such a tight schedule and I really can’t be waiting around for people to turn up late as it then clashes with other appointments and disrupts my whole day, I will have to turn anyone away who is late.

• Please collect your dog when they are ready and I’ve contacted you to confirm this, I can’t be holding onto your dogs for extra time as it’s a busy working grooming salon and not a doggy day care centre.
• Make sure your dog has been out and had chance to go the toilet prior to arriving at the salon, rain or shine they must have been out before coming for a groom. Its not my place nor do I have time to clean up after your dog and you all know how super strict I am about not letting your dogs use my lawn, driveway or salon as a place to let them toilet.

I hope this doesn’t come across as negative I’m just trying to keep things as easy as I can for everyone involved 🙏🏻 we’ve been working 12+ hours days, 7 days a week and doing my best as always.

Thank you all for your continued custom and support, I can’t wait to continue to work hard and get all your dogs ready for the big day! 🎅🏻🎄

Thank you millions

The story of Gippy…
On Saturday I was given the pleasure of meeting this beautiful little dog Gippy, who along with her mum and dad travelled all the way from Castle Cary in Somerset to visit Vanity Furr for a groom.
Desperate to find a groomer who could groom her due to aggression and behavioural issues.

She is known for being extremely aggressive and has a bite history so therefore can no longer visit grooming salons and her owners have sadly had to resort to having to go to the vets for Gippy to be put under anaesthetic and shaved all off whilst she’s asleep as it was too distressing and she was becoming dangerous.
This is very extreme but in certain circumstances the only option, however it’s risky and sad for both owner and dog to have to get to this stage.

A long standing client and good friend of mine told me about Gippy’s situation and I just knew I wanted to help them. I said if they are happy to do the drive up here I’m more than happy to give Gippy another chance at being in a grooming salon.

On arrival Gippy and her owners were visibly very nervous (understandably) and I was told she most likely won’t let me touch her face, trim her nails or put scissors anywhere near her face as she will attack. I knew I had to be careful but I could tell she was simply lashing out and biting through pure fear of the groomer and I needed to show Gippy that I was someone she could trust and feel safe with.

I knew my capabilities and was so happy to achieve what we did in just the first session, but all she really needed was some calm reassurance, gentle handling and shown some love from her groomer and bless her she let me provide a completely different grooming experience for her.
She was happily resting her head in my hand whilst I gave her a hair cut fully trusting me and proving to her I would never hurt her and I was a safe space. She went from arriving trembling, panting and shaking to then fully relaxing, laying down and even gave me kisses when the groom was complete.

A huge thank you to her amazing and dedicated owners Alan and Michelle for travelling a 400 mile round trip just to give Gippy a haircut. That shows the devotion and pure love they have for their dog and what they will do for her happiness, thank you for putting your trust in me to look after her.
And to the amazing John and Tracey for recommending me and for all your support in getting Gippy up here ❤️ my biggest fans.

I hope I’ve been able to change Gippys life moving forward and she can finally enjoy safe grooming, I can’t wait to see her again next year and I will update everyone on her progress!

Thank you all for reading,

It’s lovely to see these unique and different breeds, and the Dalmatian is not a breed you see lots of. This is Vinny and he visits Vanity Furr for a warm bubbly shampoo and conditioner bath with a fluff dry and a major de-shedding session as he moults a lot! His claws are clipped and his ears are cleaned and then he’s ready to go! 🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍

I had the honour of giving this beautiful little girl her first groom session today 🤎
Willow is a rescued Labradoodle Puppy, her owner is a longstanding client of mine and it was amazing to pamper her newest member of the family!
I gave her a hand scissored trim today just to shape up her baby coat with a more natural look, exposing those pretty eyes whilst keeping her looking young and “puppy-ish” 🤎

Hey everyone!
Just a quick one, please don’t try to use the online booking system to make appointments. It doesn’t work and I don’t know how to remove it from my page 😅

I do all my booking via text, phone calls and Facebook message.
There are no appointments available for the remainder of this year, I’m completely fully booked right up until Christmas, so unfortunately as it stands I still can’t take on any new clients at this time but I will update asap if ever I can again.

Thank you lovely bunch for always keeping me busy ❤️

Your gonna love this one!
This is Nala a beautiful Chow Chow 🖤 she was looking slightly on the tatty side when she came in today, it was her first time here so I knew she was after that VIP look. And I think it was achieved 😌
Her coat was looking quite dry and dull so with the correct techniques and products we got some life back into that stunning jet black coat.
I styled and shaped her up with my scissors to really show off her outline and tidy those edges.
She was the most perfect, sweet and gentle girl I can’t wait to see her again! 🥰

The best part of being a dog groomer, is when you can really make a dog feel better and help them.
Zorro the German Shepherd had his first ever visit to Vanity Furr today, at the grand age of 15! He’s an ex service dog and used to work for the police catching all the bad guys 👮‍♂️
However today he was very much off duty and enjoying a spa session 🥰
His coat was severely impacted and matted in but that is like music to my ears and I knew just how to fix him!

Removing years of built up coat was such a relief for this boy especially with all this warm weather we’ve been having, air flow can now move through his fur and he will be able to regulate his body temperature much safer whilst also being able to move around comfortably without the restrictions of a tight woolly jumper on him all the time.
With his age and capabilities taken into full consideration, the air conditioning was in full swing, he had plenty of breaks and was able to lie down whenever he wanted (he even had a sleep whilst having his hair dried) and made full use of the walk in shower so no lifting or jumping up was ever required from him.
The groom was completed start to finish in 1 hour exactly.

A big massive huge “Thank you” to our best friends at Hessey’s Happy Hounds. Jess provided Zorro with an amazing taxi service. He was picked up from his house and returned home safely having a fantastic experience all round ❤️

Safe to say we all feel much better after this 🥰
