IMPORTANT - walks this coming week may be cancelled or changed to drop in visits! I will NOT put any pets at risk, just for the sake of a walk. Any dogs that are walked, will be in shaded areas, if it’s a cooler time of the day. Each walk will be assessed individually everyday and if it becomes too hot before the walk is finished, it will be cut short.

Owners will be notified of any changes and I’m trying to message everyone too. PLEASE do not ask me to still walk them when it’s 20+. It’s my duty to keep your pets safe whilst in my care so that may mean some changes.

It is especially dangerous for certain breeds, thicker/longer coated dogs, older dogs and puppies, dogs with health conditions BUT the heat can kill ANY dog. Please be careful!!

Of course, no cancellation fee for this! None of us can help the weather.

Please take care with your dogs in this hot weather. Drive to your local woods if you can for a walk, it is so much cooler for them under the shade. Everyone have a lovely sunny weekend

This morning my car broke down (clutch has completely gone 😣) so I am running about 2hrs behind after having to get it to the garage and borrow a car from family for a few days!

Please bear with me for the next few days as I’m trying to work things out but my timings may be slightly off.

Sometimes older dogs are perfect for training puppies! This gorgeous girl has unfortunately passed away now, but she was absolutely brilliant with teaching Oaks how to be calmer and more respectful around other dogs. We love you Lia 💔❤️

It’s time I address something…

For years I’ve been training other people’s dogs, teaching people about behaviours, signs, tips and tricks to better their dog’s life, and the relationship they have.

Yet, I rarely look back at everything I’ve achieved with my own pets. As an owner, it’s so easy to forget to pat yourself on the back or take credit for the amazing work you’re doing with your pets! I’m guilty of it, and I can guarantee you are too 🙈

At the weekend, my partner took our puppy for a walk along the canal, for the first time without me. He got stopped MULTIPLE times and told how well Oakley was behaving around bikes, children, other dogs, wildlife - and then they were shocked when he said he’s only a puppy. A 1 year old, working Cocker Spaniel puppy, off the lead in a busy area on a bank holiday weekend, behaving impeccably.

When he came home and told me this, he also said he’s proud of me for getting Oaks to this point in the not even 8 months we’ve had him (he basically knew nothing before we rescued him 😳).

So take a look at your dog, your cat, horses - whatever pets you have - and tell yourself ‘well done’.

YOU did this.
YOU taught them that command or fun trick.
YOU made their life better.

Everyone deserves some recognition and praise, it’s easy to forget to praise ourselves for the progress we’re making ❤️

The most INCREDIBLE day at Bishton Barkfest! ❤️🐶

We met so many new pups, Oaks had a lot of treats 🙈 and we made friends with some incredible businesses!

A VERY special thank you to Chase Designs Ltd for Oakley’s presents, they’re absolutely incredible! When we came over to see you, I had no idea you’d made things for him, I was genuinely not sure what to say 😅❤️

I’d also love to mention:
- Mercia Distillery for their beautiful gin 😍
- Beechfield Honey for the BEST local honey (and I’m not even a honey-lover but it’s delicious!🤷🏼‍♀️)
- Bishton Treats & Treasures for all of Oaks’ delicious natural treats (and for feeding him throughout the day 😂)
- We had a lovely chat with Lost Dog Search & Support - Cannock and honestly, the work you do is incredible, thank you!

As if that wasn’t all amazing enough… we saw some current clients, including Milo the Cocker puppy, one of my regulars that came to surprise his bestie Oaks 🥰 and also booked in some new clients too.

We met Lola the Sprocker, the closest-looking dog we’ve ever met to Oaks! 😍 and little Coco the Chihuahua that just wanted all of the cuddles 🥰

We’re hoping to do more events in the future, and will be returning next year too 🙈❤️ thank you so much Bishton Hall and Gardens - it was an incredible day!
