🐾 WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU’RE OUT ALL DAY? 🐾

We all have busy lives. Work, appointments, school runs, shopping… and sometimes our dogs are left at home for several hours while we get on with the day.

DID YOU KNOW - THERE IS LEGISLATION AROUND DOG DAYCARE & BOARDING?

In England, commercial dog daycare and boarding businesses are covered by The Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018.

This means businesses providing commercial doggy daycare, home boarding or kennel boarding generally need the appropriate licence from their local authority and must meet legally defined welfare standards.

Licensing covers important areas including safe accommodation, staffing and supervision, hygiene, exercise, food and water, disease control, emergency procedures and the maximum number of dogs permitted. Licensed premises can also be inspected by the local authority.

So when choosing someone to care for your dog, don't just ask if they love dogs.
Ask:

🐾 Are you licensed?
🐾 Are you insured?
🐾 Are you experienced?
🐾 Are you trained in dog first aid?
🐾 What safety and emergency procedures do you have in place?
