I’ve run a 5-star dog training business for 10 years, and this £3 IKEA hack is still one of my best. 🎒

Running puppy classes and 1-to-1s doesn't have to mean spending a fortune on "pro" gear. This bag is waterproof, wipeable, and the perfect size for cones, long lines, and toys.

I’m all about helping dog trainers get quick wins and enjoyable sessions without the heavy price tag.

There is no panic quite like finishing your puppy class plan early and seeing six owners waiting for the next move. 🦴

When I was a new trainer, that gap felt like a lifetime. Now, after 10+ years of running 5-star classes, I use those moments for 'Flexibility Checks.'

The reason I can calmly throw in a high-value skill like these jumps (great for body awareness and confidence!) is because I have a rock-solid class structure behind me. I’m not panicking about the clock because my Core 45 is already handled.

If you want to move from "surviving" your classes to leading them with total confidence, you need a professional blueprint.

I’ve opened up my personal Class Structure Worksheet. It’s the exact fillable system I use to map out:
✅ The Core 45 (Warm-up to Cool-down)
✅ The 'Next Week Tease' (to skyrocket your retention) ✅ The 'Flexibility Check' (so you always have a pro move in your back pocket)

Stop winging it and start leading. Click the link in my bio to grab the 'Plan a 5⭐️ Class in Under 10 Minutes' Template for FREE in the Trainers Toolkit.

We’ve all been there: you’re trying to explain loose lead walking, but the dog is a whirlwind of jumping and pulling, and the client is looking at you for an answer. 🌪️

When the dog is that over-aroused, they aren't ready for a straight line yet. They need a "half-step."

Instead of spending 20 minutes explaining the science while the dog gets bored (and the client gets frustrated), stop talking and start moving. Walking backwards is my favourite shortcut to reset the energy. It creates instant engagement, provides a clear "target" for the dog, and gives the owner a "win" within seconds.

My 10+ years in the field have taught me that when we simplify the mechanics, the dog learns faster—and you look like the expert who can handle anything.

Have you ever had a session where the dog was so "bouncy" you had to throw the original plan out the window? Let’s share our best 'reset' moves in the comments! 👇

Don’t walk past the kitchen aisle! This 80p IKEA spatula is a "Trade Secret" for pro trainers and for good reason.

I originally used these for Assistance Dog work and clients with mobility issues, but they are now a staple in every one of my puppy classes or 121's.

Why every trainer needs one:
✅ Precision Positioning: Luring into a 'Middle' or 'Heel' without the owner needing to bend or stoop.
✅ Accessibility: A game-changer for owners who find constant bending difficult.
✅ Vital for positioning when training a dog around wheelchairs or mobility equipment.
✅ Distance Focus: Keeps a high-value reward exactly where you need it during lead work.
✅ Safety: The ultimate "shield" for over-excited puppies (no more nipped fingers!). 🦷🚫

It’s easy to clean, fits in your pocket, and costs less than a coffee. ☕️

This is a core item in my 'Cupboard to Class' system.

Dog Trainers: Part 2 of the hacks that actually make sense for your dog training sessions. 📎

I don’t buy equipment unless it does at least 3 jobs. After 10+ years in the field, I’ve learned that the best tools for puppy classes aren’t the most expensive—they’re the most versatile.

These 50p tubs are my secret weapon for building engagement and confidence in dog classes. I use them for: 🔍 Scent Work: Instant search pods for beginners. 👃 Muzzle Prep: Low-pressure nose-touch targeting. 🎾 ‘Tidy Up’: The perfect ‘basket’ for retrieval games. 🚫 Distraction Work: A see-through boundary for ‘Leave It’ practice.

One 50p item, endless dog training curriculum ideas to make your 1-2-1s and puppy classes look (and feel) 5-star.

BE THE DOG TRAINER EVERYONE RECOMMENDS 🐾

Being the trainer who is always recommended is the dream—but it’s a reputation you build one result at a time.

I’m still getting referrals today from clients I trained seven or eight years ago. That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because I worked bloody hard to find a better way to teach—so that owners actually enjoy the homework, the dogs actually learn, and my inbox stays full of 5-star reviews.

I’ve spent the last decade in the field, training thousands of dogs and puppies. I’ve lived through the "what do I do now?" moments and the "knot in the stomach" sessions so you don't have to guess.

I’m not here to be your business coach. I’m here to be the mentor I wish I had when I started—sharing the exact practical tools and methods I’ve spent 10 years perfecting.

I’m sharing everything I’ve learned about building a five-star reputation from scratch. Follow along to turn your passion into a kick-ass career.

The 'What to Bring' list was sent twice... yet here we are. A bouncy puppy, a slippery floor, and no bed. 🤦‍♀️

Instead of the panic, I keep a stack of these £1.75 IKEA bath mats in my car.

Why they’re a total game-changer: ✅ Safety: That non-slip backing is a lifesaver on hall floors. ✅ Budget: Kit out a whole class for a tenner. ✅ Hygiene: Straight in the wash, easy. ✅ Pro-Vibe: You look organised, and the pup stays focused.

No more sliding puppies, no more stressed owners. Just simple hacks that make your life easier.

Hi, I’m Anna! 👋 After 10+ years in the game, I’ve realised the best training happens when you’ve got the right systems (and hacks) in place. I help trainers ditch the planning panic with the exact tools I’ve used for a decade.

The biggest lie we tell ourselves as new dog trainers? “It’s got to look perfect.” 🤖❌

We scroll through polished clips online and then panic when our own sessions feel more like a riot in a bouncy castle. 🏰💥

But here’s the truth: Real-world training is messy. This is my 3-year-old "Apprentice" and Buddy (one of our dog boarders). It’s not about textbook precision—it’s about the relationship.

At the end of the day, this is the type of calm positive bond every client is dreaming of, and it’s our job to help them get there.

After 10+ years in the game, I’ve learned the secret isn't being perfect; it’s having the systems to handle the chaos so you can actually enjoy the journey, the training bit and the dogs! 🐾

Don't let the "robot" clips make you feel like a fraud. Real life is so much better.

What’s the one thing that’s making you feel most "nervous" about your next session? Let’s chat in the comments! 👇

The "Field-Tested" rule for dog trainers... 🌧️🧼

I’ve learned the hard way over the last 10 years: if you can't jet-wash your equipment in the garden after a rainy Saturday morning session, it isn't worth having!

That’s why these £5 IKEA step stools are always in my kit. They are cheap, stackable, and the rubberised top is perfect for teaching 'paws up,' body awareness, and building confidence with shy pups.

I’m Anna, and I spent 8 years running a 5-star dog training business. I know how exhausting the "Sunday night planning panic" can be.

I’m here to help you swap the admin stress for fun, dynamic exercises that make training the best part of your job again. 🐾

What’s the one piece of kit you’ve had to hose down this week? Tell me I’m not the only one! 👇
