⚠️Be aware of Foxtails season⚠️
Foxtails are wild, barbed grass seeds that can be incredibly dangerous for dogs and cats. Their sharp, arrow-like design allows them to easily pe*****te a dog's coat and burrow deeply into sensitive tissue, eyes, ears, nose, and paws, which frequently leads to severe infections and requires veterinary removal.
If you have been walking in grassy, untamed fields or along roadsides, thoroughly inspect your dog's coat, paying close attention to their armpits, groin, belly, and face. Brush their tail, ears and legs down to the skin so you can see every part of the body, check between each toe on their paws.
One of my customers already needed antibiotic treatment after foxtail burrow in his paw, I have attached photo after they already finished their antibiotic treatment just to be found couple of new foxtails finding their way into his paws.
Stay safe 🩷
