Created a little space for the local black cat, with a portable fan for slightly cooler air. Unfortunately, I can't let them in my house as they spray/pee whenever they come in.
There is a cat shelter out there but it is a tad warm in that today.

I had to come inside and put flip flops on because the floor was burning my feet.

If it is hurting me, it is hurting them!

Fortunately, Scarletti Spaghetti is choosing to be inside, in the dark corners of the house.

Stay safe.
Keep those furries out of this heat.

Please be advised that due to the heatwave next week, walks will be home visits instead.
This is for their safety (and mine). I know when I have heatstroke, but it might be too late for your pooch by the time you see the signs.

I have availability on Friday 29th for home visits between 10am - 4pm.

Stay safe in the hot weather folks. stay hydrated and apply that factor 50.

🚨HEATSTROKE KILLS DOGS🚨

It doesn’t always have to be ‘hot’ for an animal to develop heatstroke. Exercising excessively in warm weather, or being left in a warm or humid environment that is poorly ventilated can cause animals to quickly overheat. Extra attention should be given to large dogs, flat faced breeds, puppies, overweight dogs, older dogs, black coated dogs and dogs with emotional behaviour difficulties as studies have shown they can be affected by the heat more than others. Avoidance is always best, but it’s important to know the signs of heatstroke so that you can treat your dog appropriately and know when to seek veterinary attention should they be unfortunate enough to suffer from it.

If you are concerned that your pet is overheating, you should act immediately, as heatstroke can rapidly become a life-threatening emergency; We recommend to “cool first, transport second” as the immediate first aid response for dogs with heatstroke. Owners should also seek veterinary advice as soon as possible.
