I’m sharing this on my business page as I personally feel it is a horrible and horrendous thing to happen and Particularly so on the day the landlord was laid to rest.

Please can you help ? I don’t know any other details but maybe small local businesses can do the same and give this family a break!! Goodness knows they need it.

Wow what a day !!! I’ve actually taken a day off in the week again and it’s unprecedented but for several reasons…. Tired, exhausted almost but I wanted to pay my respects to a man that has been in our village for as long as I remember ! I remember going to the ‘ Pear Tree ‘ when Martin and I first met and that was 24 years ago and him thrashing me at pool! He still does by the way! 🙄Russell served us from behind the bar … served food and then took on the ‘ Hoops’ massive hit and did so much for the community and honestly kept us going with delivered fish and chips through Covid! We didn’t join the cortège-behind his hearse and the most beautiful flowers and mourning family and many many friends …. We stood quietly with respect and witnessed the love and dignity and significance to everyone’s life he shared! So here’s to you Russell - you did it all 💜 Rest easy !!! You did our village proud and will be missed xx not just by me but my family who all came in for a last sup after golf 😂

So this is the whole story behind Moore than just a groom Ltd came about 🐾So, I thought I’d share a little more about ME now that I’ve actually taken some time out! 😂

My little business started with what can only be described as a slightly bonkers idea… followed by my husband and fabulous father-in-law building me a brick shed. 😂🧱 Because apparently when you have a midlife crisis, you don’t buy a sports car… you get a dog grooming salon!

I worked in housing and care for 26 years. My whole career was dedicated to helping people, and I’m genuinely proud to say I changed many, many lives for the better. ❤️ I absolutely loved the people side of it, and if I’m honest, that’s the bit I do miss.

But eventually came the point where I thought, “I actually cannot do this anymore.” Stress, health, life and probably a healthy dose of midlife crisis all joined forces and I finally called it. I resigned.

Then I thought… what next?

Obviously… DOGS. 🐶😂

So I trained as a dog groomer, gained my Level 3 Diploma, became first-aid trained and I’m now a qualified AIMs instructor, which means I can even train YOU to issue your own qualifications!

From 26 years in housing and care to standing in a brick shed covered in dog hair… honestly, the career path makes perfect sense if you don’t think about it too hard. 😂🐾

And because you’re getting the full me, I’m also a very happily married mum of three.

My eldest lives in Brazil, where he’s a football coach and teaches English as a second language. 🇧🇷⚽️
My middle one is almost qualified as an electrical engineer. ⚡️
And my youngest is an environmental engineer. 🌱

So between them, I’ve somehow raised one who can coach football, one who can probably rewire your house and one who might save the planet… and I groom dogs. 😂

And this is me and my husband, the man who apparently thought building a brick shed for my mad idea was a perfectly sensible thing to do! ❤️

I genuinely love what I do, I love meeting all your lovely dogs (even the ones who arrive looking at me like I’ve personally offended their ancestors 😂), and I’m so grateful for every single person who supports my little business.

So… the lovely Angelique spent the day with me yesterday and after travelling all the way from beautiful France ….WHAT an introduction to dog grooming it was! 😂🐾

Honestly, this story is so bizarre I’m still wondering whether I accidentally walked into a soap opera. 🤣

Angelique contacted me completely out of the blue after searching for pet groomers because she was coming over to England to stay with family. She chose me to spend the day with and, obviously, I was secretly thinking, “Well… this is a woman with EXCELLENT taste.” 😂💜

We immediately clicked and yesterday she absolutely smashed it! She picked everything up so naturally that I’m now slightly concerned she’s going to come back and steal my job. 😂✂️🐶

BUT… here’s where it gets ridiculous…

I ALREADY GROOM HER GRANNY’S DOG! 🤣🤣🤣

Angelique didn’t know this.

Granny didn’t know about our chats.

I didn’t know Angelique was Granny’s granddaughter.

Basically, nobody knew anything and somehow we all ended up in the same grooming salon. 😂😂

And after ONE day, she’s coming back to England to train with me!

So apparently I’ve gone from grooming dogs to accidentally recruiting international apprentices. 🌎✂️🤣

Honestly, I couldn’t make this story up if I tried!

Angelique is an absolute star and I genuinely think we have a future grooming superstar on our hands. ⭐️🐾
