The rescue was founded in 2018 by A.WILLIAMS & L.WILLIAMS. We pride ourselves on providing outstanding care and accommodation for Reptiles. We are both big animal lovers and we can guarantee that any animals that come's into our care will be well looked after. We do not agree with euthanasia, We believe that every animal deserves a chance. We have a very good local vet who works very closely with

us to ensure that each animal is getting the best treatment. We have never put any animal to sleep, this would only happen under strict advice from the vet. After keeping reptiles over the last 24 years, We decided to setup this rescue after seeing too many cases of (UNWANTED ANIMALS) being dumped in local ponds and reservoirs as well as fields . We once had a phone call about a Terrapin abandoned in the middle of Worksop Town centre, a local vet collected it and brought it to us. We can confirm that it is now thriving in its new environment with us. We found this news very distressing and un-acceptable as we feel that all animals deserve a better life, and we are capable of providing this. Most people have described us as "Mad as a box of Frogs" but in our eyes all animals require is a good suitable environment, that caters to all the animals individual needs. Dedication is the key factor that most pet owners struggle to grasp. We accept that over time peoples lives and circumstances change. All we ask is that if you find yourself unable to properly care for your animal, please take it to a local (Accredited) rescue. The animals welfare. With your ongoing help and support we are doing what we set out to do!

Interesting I never knew this. Now I feel differently about them.

“We grew up in England where we have pigeons. Apparently some also hate them. Lots was always saying bad things about pigeons until I pointed something out that you never thought of before.”

“We domesticated pigeons. They are (nearly) all over the world because HUMANS BROUGHT THEM THERE. And, they were more than pets. They carried messages. People raced them. They lived spoiled lives as honored human companions for centuries.

Then we got telephones and we threw them out like trash.

Literally, we threw them away.

Their species had already been fully domesticated and they could not survive in the wild; they lost all their survival instincts during the centuries that they lived caged by people.

That is why they live in cities with people instead of in a forest somewhere. It’s OUR fault. And not only did we throw them away, but now humans curse them as “winged rats;” casting them as pests.

But they don’t know how to live without us, and their instincts tell us that they should trust us. So, they continue to come up to humans and beg for food, because it’s the only survival skill left in their genes.

They love us because they were bred by us to feel that way, and yet we hate them.”

-I love this post.

Facing your fears is the most effective way to overcome anxiety. By gradually exposing yourself to what scares you in small, manageable steps—rather than avoiding it—you teach your brain that you can handle the discomfort and build lasting emotional resilience.
