🇬🇧 Today We Remember – VE Day 🇬🇧

On this day in 1945, the guns fell silent as World War II came to an end.

We honour the sacrifice, courage and resilience of all those who served on the front lines and at home. We also remember the 16 million animals that were made to serve on all sides during World War II.

Let us never forget.

Spring Babies event - tomorrow! 🐣🐰

Wellgate Community Farm would like to welcome you to our Spring Babies Event on the 26th of April 10:30am - 3:30pm.

A day full of fun for all the family!

🌷 Easter egg hunt
🌷 Craft activities
🌷 Bouncy castle

Throughout there will be Stalls, sideshows and animal encounters where you can meet some of our newest residents and many of our long term residents 🐥

Refreshments and BBQ available on site

🌼🌻As always FREE ENTRY - donations always welcome. Some activities will come with a charge 🌼🌻

Parking is available on the main road (Collier Row Road) and at The City Pavillon (a short walk from the farm). Wellgate would like to promote sustainable p***c transport/ and or lift share for this event.

- 362 and 62 to City Pavillion

Train:
Chadwell Heath station - 62 towards Marks gate
Romford Station - 247 towards Barkingside

Wellgate and nine other London City Farms joined forces last year for the project. The project intended to make yarn from the fleeces that would otherwise be waste. Across all the farms 568 fleeces from 16 sheep breeds. There is now 350kgs of London Wool ready to be developed into useful products to raise money for all the farms and the running of the project. 10 London City farms and Ossian knitwear have joined forces to produce a London wool from urban dwelling sheep.

Bottle Feed a Lamb - BOOKING OPEN

We have recently adopted several orphaned lambs! All of which will need regular feeds for their first few weeks with us.

Please follow the below link to book but hurry spaces are limited.

Each ticket is for one person (plus a parent or carer where appropriate) to take part in the experience of bottle-feeding one of our lambs. Family members are welcome to join us watch or take photos from the sidelines if there's space. For full information of what is included click the link below ⬇️

We're heartbroken to share that our beloved farm cat, Alfie, passed away yesterday. Alfie has been with us since he was a kitten and has spent the last 18 years enjoying farm life. If you have a favourite memory or picture of Alfie we would invite for you to share it in the comments below. 🌈

Next weekend we’ll be attending The Mercury Mall’s Spring Wellness weekender bringing a mix of our resident animals for a petting experience. Come and join us between 11am and 3pm. The event is free to attend and £2 per person for the animal encounters.
