The 27th Annual London Harvest Festival hosted by London Farms and Gardens is coming to Mudchute Park and Farm for the first time, on Saturday 20th September.
Held from 10am-5pm, it is open to the public of all ages - free entry and no charge for activities.
It’s a celebration about connecting with farming, food production, and the natural environment.
Members of the public can watch the livestock entries in the animal show, and enjoy the horticulture entries showcased by 12 City Farms and many community-managed gardens.
The public is welcome to try some traditional crafts including spinning natural fibres with a drop spindle, fashioning corn dolls, and making willow bird houses.
There’s also traditional iron mongering by skilled craftspeople where prizes will be hand-crafted for a tug of war.
For London-based farms and gardens it’s an excellent chance to showcase their farm or garden to people from across London.
Company Secretary, Rachel Schwartz said it was an opportunity for members to celebrate the amazing work they, their staff and volunteers put in year round.
