Over our 'Pet Smile' promotion, we have performed 44 dentals so far this month and still have a further 49 booked in over November for pets struggling with their teeth. These are just some of the products we have available to purchase in practice to help with your pets dental hygiene that may help avoid having to require surgeries in the future!

It’s National Walk Your Dog Week… the perfect excuse to get outside and enjoy autumn strolls with your four-legged friend!
To keep every walk safe and happy this season, here are a few top tips:
Stay Warm: Ensure your pet is comfortable and warm withappropriate clothing, especially if they have short fur
Watch Out for Hazards: Be mindful of fallen leaves, which can hide potential dangers like sharp objects or holes 🕳️
Stay on Leash: With wildlife more active, keep your pet on a leash to prevent unexpected chases 🐿️
Hydrate: Bring water for your pet, as they can still get thirsty even in cooler weather 💦
Check for Ticks: Ticks may still be active in October so keep up your tick checks after each walk!
Enjoy the beautiful season safely with your pet and share your photos with us!

Our veterinary practice was opened in 1987 by Gerald Valentine (having moved from his previous surgery in Heywood to the more spacious facilities here in Castleton). He was joined in 1993 by Simon Cogan and, 10 years later by Adam Deavin). In 2003, Gary Dybdall came on board, as 15-yeard old completing his work experience for school. In 2004, Gary worked for Valentine’s by cleaning kennels until 2005, when he left to do his training. He returned to us in May 2016 as a full-time qualified vet.
Together the partnership offers you over 60 years of veterinary experience with the emphasis on good communication and a caring attitude.
The practice deals with all aspects of small animal veterinary medicine and surgery at a well equipped, convenient site.
We have a large adjacent carpark for free easy parking so feel free to pop in and see us.
