We see first hand the dedication, care and commitment that Kirsty puts into this rescue every single day.
Many people only see the adoption fee, but they don’t see the countless hours, sleepless nights, veterinary bills, transport costs, kennelling, rehabilitation, and ongoing support that go into giving these dogs a second chance. The reality is that £450–£500 is a fraction of what it costs to rescue, care for, and prepare a dog for their forever home.
What Kirsty provides goes far beyond simply rehoming dogs, she offers a lifetime safety net for the animals in her care and works tirelessly, 24/7, with no funding and no wage. We are incredibly lucky to have someone so passionate and dedicated in our community. Thank you, Kirsty, for everything you do for dogs that so often have nowhere else to turn. Every day we have enquiries about adopting dogs, we most recently have had multiple negative comments about how we don’t get back to people immediately
We have so many people that say
“your adoption fee is so high”
“surely we can just give a donation? “
�“you should be grateful we are adopting a rescue dog, we could just get a puppy”
“ it doesn’t cost that much for a dog”
“we could get a puppy for less”
The reality is we cannot adopt our dogs out for any less than our adoption fee
We have a fee of £450 for adult dogs
£500 for puppy’s
Senior dogs we have a reduced adoption fee
We have NO FUNDING
we rely purely on adoption fees and fundraisers to cover the cost of a dog arriving start- finish
our adoption fee covers
⭐️ vet examination
⭐️ Microchip
⭐️ first vaccine
⭐️ flea and worm treatment
⭐️ Neutering
⭐️ any other treatment the dog may need to get him/ her up to health to be re homed
⭐️ full kennelling for all dogs 24/7
This is all without the cost of our electric, cleaning chemicals, food, and my time which is 24 hours 7 days a week
Every day I wake up at 6am and go to bed at midnight ( I do not take a wage)
we have to pay for transport , and private boarding if we want a holiday
Neutering costs more than the adoption fee in most cases if people were to go to their own vets
The dogs are a full time commitment, we cannot just go out for the day , everything revolves around the dogs
I clean, walk, rotate the dogs around the paddock, walk dogs, feed, water and continually meet the dogs needs
meet new volunteers
bring the dogs from kennels to volunteer walkers throughout the day ( which can take up the whole day)
Take dogs to the vets, do meet and greets , all while looking after 4 children
We are not like any other kennels, we are here 24/7 and live here and have a full
time commitment to all
the dogs in our care
We have sleepless nights because of dogs that bark because they are confused as to where they are, we have to have dogs indoors, in the bed, in the house, deal
with them chewing/ soiling our home…
We also have to make the most difficult
decisions for the welfare of some dogs that people have dumped/ abandoned because they don’t want the responsibility, which also takes a mental toll
So please when you question our adoption fee , consider everything that goes on behind the scenes! because it’s not for the faint hearted !!
We pride ourselves in helping as many “difficult” and hard to home
dogs as we can
we are always there to take dogs back when people decide within an hour that the foster/ adoption isn’t working out and the dog needs to be returned, we are here 24/7
we do our very best ( we being myself and volunteers)
surely if you are gaining your forever family member, this is a very small price to pay 🥺
