Ok Facebook doggy friends. What do you all think about these dog collar smart tags.
The bar code reveals a complete profile on your dog. From name, breed, medical information on conditions and drugs being used. Personality, whether they are aggressive, shy, nervous etc.
It feels like a help to anyone who wants to take your dog. If you can be completely knowledgeable about that dog, with vet, police etc, then surely they are easier to steal.
I only put my name and phone number on my dogs collars. This is enough for anyone to get in touch with me. Although as they are all well trained, it would be a strange moment for them to be lost.
With all the pet thefts going on, it seems to be an unnecessary step. I understand that if your dog has a medical condition, then if lost, it can get immediate medical help. Maybe we just need to put more on the micro chip. Also surely an owner would be looking very quickly.
Where I live now, dog thefts happen sporadically, yet most collars here have the dogs name on them. People even put their names on the dogs harness, in big letters.
I feel a tag that gives everyone all info on your dog, surely shouldn't be encouraged. Too many will see it as a great idea.
