Give your puppy the best start to their grooming journey

Introducing your puppy to the salon at an early age can help them build confidence and ensure they grow up comfortable with the grooming process. Early, positive experiences create calm and happy dogs who actually enjoy their pamper sessions!
By gently desensitising your puppy to the sights, sounds and sensations of grooming, we can prevent stress or anxiety later in life — making every visit a pleasant experience for both your pup and their groomer.

My 4-Step Puppy Introduction is designed to build confidence gradually, with plenty of fun, reassurance and treats along the way.

Step 1 – Meet & Greet
A fun and gentle first visit! Your puppy will have some playtime in the salon, getting used to the environment, sounds and smells.
I will introduce gentle handling, let them sit on the grooming table, and reward them with lots of praise and tasty treats.
This first step is all about building positive associations and trust.

Step 2 – Gentle Bath, Brush & Dry
A soft introduction to the bathing process.
I will use a mild puppy shampoo, followed by a gentle brush and a quiet, low-speed dryer to help your pup get used to grooming tools.
Plenty of reassurance and breaks will keep things relaxed and enjoyable.

Step 3 – Bath, Brush, Dry, Nails & Ears
In this session it includes a nail trim and gentle ear clean after a bath and dry.
If your puppy is happy and settled, I may also do a small tidy around the feet and pads — helping them get used to the sound and feel of scissors or clippers in a calm way.

Step 4 – Full Puppy Groom
Once your puppy is fully comfortable, they’re ready for their first full groom!
This includes a full wash, blow-dry, brush-out, nail trim, ear clean, and a light tidy or trim suited to their coat type — always working at your puppy’s pace.

Recommended age:
I recommend starting your puppy’s grooming journey as soon as they’ve completed their vaccinations — ideally between 12 and 16 weeks old.
