Barbara Jones
Well not many of you will know this but Barbara doing flyball for some 22yrs as she was one of the clubs founding members when it started in 2003. I didn't start until 2006.
In 2006 we started racing on a regular basis with Barbaras Crazie maise as one of the teams height dogs.
We had many adventures and happy times after that. We went round the swanley interchange 7 or 8 times before i could get Barbara to take the turn off for Paddock Wood!
Not many clubs can say that in their 3rd tournament they came 3rd in their division at the euros even if they were only in Guildford!
I don't think anyone who was with us when both teams came first in their divisons at Stockbridge for the first time. We called it the 4 seasons in one day tournament as the dogs did run in the wind, rain, snow, and sun. It was so windy we watched Franks gazebo go flying past the ring!
The evenings spent under the gazebo until the small hours with some drinking tea but most something stronger with Barbara and her one liners having everyone in stitiches!
Although Barbara and Cate on we all remained good friends as when you made friends with Barbara you made one for life.
This weekend we have a foundation team running and hopefully we can get a clean run or two in Barbaras memory after all without Barbara and the rest of the team back in 2003 there is no Fast Lane.
Cate Jones and the rest of Barbaras family your mum was truley one in a million.
