With Easter just around the corner, we wanted to share this important reminder with you… Rabbits are for life, not just for Easter 🐰🐰

❌ Rabbits are not good pets for children & are most definitely not a good Easter gift ❌

Rabbits might look like a cuddly toy & therefore be attractive to children who see a cute, fluffy bunny and decide they want one. However the reality is that Rabbits are rarely cuddly and children often lose interest quickly.

When purchased as a gift for a child, rabbits are often left alone in a hutch at the end of the garden or even abandoned. This is why it’s important to educate yourself on their needs before committing.

Repurposing unsuitable rabbit housing 💥 We had this hutch donated (see top right of pic) but sadly it was tiny. Most hutches are not suitable for rabbits (or guinea pigs) unless used a shelter as part of a much larger set up. We managed to repurpose this donation in one of our foster homes. It's now merely a bit of furniture (open 24/7) rather than a permanent prison 😥

Providing space for a rabbit to run, binky, skip, play and explore is vital to their wellbeing and trust us, is much more entertaining than a sad rabbit in a hutch 💔

Katie’s parents (who live in Fuerteventura) have a cat called Bob, who had an unfortunate accident and had to have most of his tail removed today!

Who can guess the total of the bill?

Bob had a home visit from the vet, 2 lots of antibiotics, 2 lots of anti inflammatories, and an antibiotic injection, microchip, and of course, the actual op itself.
