Been a while, but couldn't resist the chance to pop along to the Ford Dunton Vehicle Enthusiasts day, and catch up with a few of my premie and contract pals. Clearing out my garage and been going through hundreds of old magazines and found this Autosport from 16th April 1970 with the front cover and article from the April 12th 1970 BOAC 1000kms. As many of you will know a certain Pedro Rodriguez won in the wet by 5 laps and was also the race I watched that was the inspiration for reverse engineering my Icon 917K.
But a few of you will notice that the caption above the photo says "BOAC 2000"! I wonder if I have an early miss-print or if all the 1970 April 16th Autosport's say BOAC 2000!
The eagle eyed of you may also notice the No 10 nose of Pedro's 917 lurking in the background.
