So what's your favourite ride from Street Farm? Post a photo in the comments if you have any between the ears shots!
This is one of mine - riding The Clouds. Even the name makes me feel inspired!
This first photo is taken by one of my current guests, a group of Scottish endurance riders, who have now been to Street Farm 7 times!!! They did the Clouds ride on their first day here because it is a good leg stretch after a journey.
The Clouds is a rocky outcrop on the flank of Wild Boar Fell, with limestone crags and pavements. It is a fascinating geological environment, with a history of small-scale farming and mining for minerals and lead and the opportunity to spot birds, small mammals and wild ponies. The ride takes about an hour, and gives fantastic views, not only looking down to Street Farm, but also down the valley to Cautley and Sedbergh, and across the Howgills to the Lake district on a sunny day.
We have lots of other routes ready for you to try, many of which are already in map cases and include talkarounds for those of you unconfident with map-reading, but I can also send the gpx file of the routes directly to those with the OS map app.
Come and stay, and discover your favourite routes!!
