A lovely morning to Barley Greyhound Sanctuary - Essex to drop off a dog which Joy and the team have kindly taken in to rehome & of course to see our hounds!

They also had an amazing plant sale on today so we also did some shopping whoops 😅

The kids are all doing well Harvey continues to shout at dogs walking past him, and keeping volunteers on their toes however he is a firm favourite.. who gets extra Treatos! ✨ - he is a long stayer there so I know they would appreciate any donations / sponsorships!

Spice - is doing well, her tummy issues have flared again which they are hoping to get back under control however is full of life & loves a cuddle!

Liam- He has landed on his feet in an INCREDIBLE home, however he popped back in today to say hello & also to pick up some plants / flowers in the sale they had going on! 🥹 - to say I was happy to see them all is an understatement, however they are in the best hands with Joy & all the team!

A very odd moment this weekend!

We took the house dogs up to the kennels for the very first time!
They had always been up to the kennel area but never inside due to having the hounds!

We let them explore everywhere and saw where all their friends used to be!

Still a very odd feeling going in and it being so quiet and abandoned!

The girls loved to explore it and it was lovely to see ✨

Katie, Sarah and Pheobehad an absolutely Fab morning seeing our Hounds Spice and Harvey, and of course walking some of the other dogs too!

We had a right mixture of greyhounds, Lurchers, Whippets!

We also had a MASSIVE surprise from Liams new owners who bought him up to see us and join us on a walk! ✨

A lovely time meeting all the volunteers and all the other doggies! 💘

Thank you to everyone who donated treats, food, Kibble, and money they are so grateful!

We will be doing some fundraisers, and more donations for them again! ✨

Thank you everyone for your kind donations for Barley Greyhound Sanctuary - Essex!

We still have a week or so to go so please if you want to donate you still have time!

Treats, Tins of meat, Fish are all accepted, or if you wish to make a cash donation we will be taking that straight to Barley so they can buy the main food they need or use it for vet bills, electricity etc! ✨

If you do wish to drop things off please drop it off to the house there is a box to the right of front door, the kennel gate is locked and no doorbell on it anymore so we won’t know the things are there! 💘

Happy New Year!

We will be going up to in a few weeks to see the hounds and we of course want to take them some goodies to say a huge THANK YOU!

To Joy and the team for looking after our guys!

We know a few of you are still looking to support greyhound charities- so we will be doing a collection if anyone wishes to donate anything to it for us to take with us! 🥹

They are specifically after -

Wet food- Tins, Pouches, Sardines - The usuals
Treats - No Rawhide please
Biscuits for the humans 🐾
Sausages for the hounds 🫶

And of course Money donations are always welcome which can be done directly to them!

If you are hoping to donate let us know and we can arrange collection or drop off to take up to them!

We worked with last year to help raise awareness for dogs wearing muzzles!

She took photos of 16 of our hounds, to go into the book!

You can tell so much hard work and dedication has gone into this book 🙌

We recently received ours, and re reading the stories the volunteers wrote about our lovely hounds bought a year to my eyes especially as they are no longer in our care

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years, this year is going to be very strange for us as it’s the first time EVER Katie hasn’t been up the kennels in the afternoon!
