Hello all.
You are all probably whittling about getting to/from your horses if they don’t live at your house. However, it is confirmed that you are aloud to travel for livestock, to meet welfare needs.
Here’s a few little helpful tips to help you guys to shorten visits and ease practicality;
• prepare feeds/nets for AM+PM, for a few days if you have the stuff to do so
• ride in a safe environment to help with your mental state. I know we all want to probably go for a gallop now to reduce our anxiety, but it isn’t the best idea. Try and avoid incidents happening
• Wear protective gloves/wash hands,face etc if you are based on a livery yard, keep biosecurity as a key priority
• If you are in a position to have your horse on full turnout, then this would be quicker to save on mucking out, rug changing etc. However, I know myself I’ll be looking forward to those little things to keep me sane
• if you are based on a livery yard, try and have allocated slots between yourself and other liveries, to avoid human communications/interactions. I imagine your livery owners will already have plans in place.

It would be a good idea to travel to/from your horse with the horses passports, in case you happened to be unlucky and get pulled by a Police man. This is then proof of your whereabouts.
The British Horse Society will be releasing a statement tomorrow of their advise for all horsey businesses & horse owners. Keep your eyes peeled for that as to what the best action is to take.

I feel as though us horsey people are extremely lucky to have our horses to be able to have a chat/cuddle to twice a day, as they really do keep us sane.
They are lucky to not have a clue about any of the world problems right now. So, keep nattering away to them and give them extra carrots if it makes you feel better.

My love goes out to all owners at the minute, but just remember who’ll be waiting for you first thing in the morning for kisses 🥰

"I think it's really important for every groom to have an understanding of the importance of clean sport.
I'm so glad that I've done Groom Clean, it was easy to do and gave me added confidence that I know what's safe for my clients horses.
