Three Greys Riding School prides itself on professionalism and excellent safety record.

We specialise in teaching beginners and offer hacking for experienced riders. We have a wonderful selection of horses and ponies for both adults and children. Three Greys Riding School is a family run business, which has been established since 1963. The management of Three Greys Riding School prides itself on its professionalism and excellent safety record. Three Greys welcomes beginners and exper

ienced riders and has a large number of horses and ponies to suit all abilities. We specialise in teaching beginners to ride and helping to build confidence to those who may have had a break from riding. We offer Private and Group lessons and escorted hacks on the South Downs and activities for Children during the school holidays.

Behind the scenes we also have Daisy…

Hi I’m Daisy.

I first came to Three Greys as a volunteer when i was 9 then went on to get my own pony Chico when I was 13.

I studied at Plumpton College for 3 years where I acquired my National Diploma in Horse Management, my BHS Stages 1,2 and 3 qualifications and my Ride and Road safety qualification. I worked at Three Greys for around 11 years but have recently decided to take a step back to spend more time with my young children. Now I have taken on the role of social media manager as i love to take pictures and document the goings on around the yard.

During my time working at Three Greys I bought my first horse Tarco who I’ve now owned for 14 years. We have done a bit of everything over the years but most recently have enjoyed competing in Arena Eventing 🦄

My favourite part about working on the yard is just seeing the happiness horses bring to people and working with a team that is more like a family ♥️

Behind the scenes we have Nicola our Business Manager…

Nicola manages all the administration, online booking system and accounts for us. Here is a bit about her…….

‘As some of you may know, I am Sue’s daughter. I look after all the admin for the business, to allow Sue to concentrate on looking after the horses. I don’t have my own horse but have plenty to choose from in the riding school if I fancy a ride.

My daughters are both keen riders and our pony Minnie keeps us busy most weekends. My favourite riding school pony is Finn. He’s a great safe pony for kids to learn to ride on and has such a kind heart.’

And heres Ruby…

Hi my name is Ruby,

I’ve been riding and competing all my life and I am currently taking my level 3 apprenticeship and working towards my BHS levels.

I’ve only been at Three Greys for a few months but
i’ve really enjoyed getting into teaching and love seeing improvement from my clients in their lessons!

My favourite school horse would have to be Nutmeg. It’s so heartwarming seeing the younger kids playing with her just like i did here when i was little ☺️

And here is Ashleigh…

Hi I’m Ashleigh,

I first started working as a weekend volunteer here at Three Greys about 10 years ago.
I am now working as an apprentice groom working towards my level 3 senior groom qualification.

I owned Grubby for 6 years before loaning her to Sue while I focused on my studies. I sold her to Sue late last year and I’m happy to see that grubby is enjoying her job out on hacks.

My favourite part about working at three greys is meeting new people and being in the open air surrounded by horses. I love every aspect of looking after horses 🐴

Hi my name is Lily,

I’m currently doing a level 3 apprenticeship and will hopefully work here full time when i’ve completed it.
I’ve been at three greys for 7 months now.

My favourite riding school horse is Grubby as she has such a sweet personality and I love going out on hacks with her.

My favourite part about my job is working on the yard and with the horses as it brings me a lot of joy. I also really enjoy teaching and seeing riders improve in their lessons ☺️

Hi I’m Angela,

I started work here in November 2022 but was a volunteer before that.

I love my roll on the team at three greys , and really enjoy teaching beginners how to ride and have fun. My team also say I am very good with nervous clients ☺️

My favourite school horse is Gypsy as she is so sweet and kind. She is also such a comfy ride 🐴

Next up is Jazz our Assistant Head Groom…

Hi I am Jazz!

My journey at Three Greys started when I was 6 years old and I have grown up on the yard ever since, recently becoming Assistant Head Groom.

I also recently purchased my new horse ‘Hugo’. He is an 8 year old bay British Sport Horse.
Me and Hugo love our jumping and have been having lots of fun at cross country and arena hires.

My favourite part of working at Three Greys is being able to talk to lots of new or familiar faces and share my experiences and knowledge to help others, I do also love bedding down and making a perfect tidy bed! 🧹

Up next we have our Head Groom Emily…

Hi i’m Emily,

I started as a weekend volunteer at Three Greys 14 years ago and have now worked my way up to being Head Groom.

I have owned my horse “Patsy” for 3 years. She is a 7 year old grey Irish Draught.
Me and Patsy enjoy our jumping and we recently won our arena eventing championship league 🏆

My favourite part of working at 3 greys is seeing clients progress in their lessons, but also mucking out first thing in the morning, it’s the best way to start the day.
