With a few new followers, I thought I would reintroduce myself.
My name is Gail. I'm the owner and Trainer at Tyne Valley Dog Sports. I live in Prudhoe with my little family of 3 and 2 dogs
When I first left University ( or Polytechnic as it was then) I did a few corporate jobs, everything from Cinema Manager to Business Advisor and Regional Trainer for a Dry Cleaning Company. I had a pretty good wage for a young woman in her 20's but wasn't happy and knew I wanted to work with animals in particular dogs.
So I left that world and went to get some hands on practical experience working in various kennels, including boarding, quarantine and police kennels.
From there I worked as a Technician in the Animal Care department at Nothumberland College at Kirkley Hall moving back into teaching again for 10 years or so, gaining a PCET.
I moved into self-employment setting up in dog walking and boarding 20 years ago doing occassional training and over the years doing less walking and more training.
I've competed in agility for a couple of decades with all of my dogs in that time and moved more into scentwork and Mantrailing through my current dog' instinctual abilities.
Qualified through PACT I'm certified with the ABTC as an Animal Training Instructor. Certified and Accredited with Mantrailing Global as both an Instructor and Assessor and most recently with UK Sniffer Dogs as an Instructor.
