Promised Land Farm

Promised Land Farm We are a family farm in Lacey Green Buckinghamshire. We have a small pedigree Beef Shorthorn suckler herd and a commercial meat goat herd.

We also rear beef x dairy calves and have mixed poultry with a weekly egg round for the local area.

I'd been waiting patiently for 2 ladies to calve, both decided to pop yesterday morning together and both had bull calves. Lola has a lovely white AI calf by Highlee Theodore and Raspberry has a nice roan bull by Promisedland Sid. Always nice when a calf is by a homebred bull out of a homebred cow. Definitely the year of the boys with only 2 pedigree heifers!

We are thinking of everyone making the journey to London today, let's hope the government actually listen for once! This will almost certainly effect not only mine but both of our children's future's. Unfortunately like many small stock farmers in this country, this time of the year, we are unable to attend as there's no one else to feed and care for the animals, especially given the weather this morning and one of our heifers so close to calving!

Farmers big and small will fight for our future and yours. Whether that's marching in London or by doing what we do every day of the year. Putting our stock first and producing top notch food for the whole country 🐂🐮🐑🐏🐷🐐🦃🐔🐓🐣🐖🌾👩‍🌾🍞🥕🥚🍳🥛🥩🚜

What a way to finish up the Easter weekend with one of my favourite cows Lola deciding to finally relinquish her hostage! A rather big, rather overcooked beautiful roan heifer calf!! Lola needed a bit of help due to the calf being quite big and not quite in the right place, a little rearrangement and out she popped! Up and about quickly, she's only about 10 mins old in the pic!! Good work Lola! Excited to see this little one dry and fluffy in the daylight tomorrow.
