💚 I AM AVAILABLE 💚
FOSTER-TO-ADOPT
Introducing you to our handsome man Ceasar!
Ceasar is our 3-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd cross.
Ceasar is still a little nervous and does lack some confidence meeting new people. He may bark at first but he is getting braver by the day. Once Ceasar knows you though, he wants nothing more than to play and have cuddles. Sometimes the cuddles can overexcite Ceasar and he may jump up but he listens well when you turn your back and ignore that cheeky side.
He loves running around the place with a soft toy or two, although some do get destuffed... His favourite toy by far is a tennis ball, he is such a good boy and will happily give you his toys for a treat or another toy.
His toilet training has been going well; he was initially very clean in his kennel. However, as kennel life is beginning to get a bit boring for him, he has made a mess a few times, so ongoing toilet training will need to continue in his new home. This should be a walk in the park for him as he is a very clever boy. Ceasar knows how to sit, wait and give the paw...though you may sometimes get two paws for the price of one!
At the centre, staff are working on loose lead walking and focus work with his handler, and Ceasar is doing amazingly. He is food motivated so that helps with training, Ceasar loves his food! Sadly, he came in to us very underweight so we are building him up. He was initially a bit too eager for treats but that's understandable as he must have been hungry! He has since learnt to take treats more gently and have a bit more patience.
As Ceasar came to us very underweight, he is available for foster to adopt, so we can make sure he continues gaining the weight he needs and can become a healthy dog with a good diet, but we would much prefer Ceasar to be in a home rather than kennels while this is ongoing, and Ceasar would agree!
Ceasar has met a couple of the other dogs at the centre at a distance but was a bit too excited to have a nice sociable hello. He gets vocal and can get a little frustrated that he can’t immediately meet the dog. We are working with Ceasar to help him learn how to politely meet and interact with other dogs. Due to this, at this time, Ceasar would be best suited to a home where he is the only pet.
Ceasar could live with children 16+, due to his size and excitable nature. He will need a family willing to give him the time and patience he needs to find his paws. Once he has this and has settled, we are sure he will thrive and become a loving and playful family addition.
